Mortal Parents

Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, and Angélique Louise Marie Renaud. Philippe was the nephew of King Louis XIV, who died when Genevieve was 13 years old. Her mother Angélique, was an actress for a short time before being inducted as one of Philippe’s mistresses. Once she fell pregnant, Philippe set her up in a house near his residence, Palais-Royal in Paris, France.

In the span of 300 years, a lot has changed personality wise for Gin. While she was often known as a virtuous and modest girl during her upbringing, as time progressed and she slowly unlearned the manners of court, she became known as rather straightforward and frank. She has no issue talking to others, and is a natural born leader. Many people who meet her find it hard to imagine that she was once a beloved member of the french court.

Gin is talented in playing the piano, a skill customary for a woman of her status. She’s also fluent in French (her first language), Italian, Spanish, German, Latin, and Russian. She’s trained in archery and the longsword, although she also knows how to shoot an old fashioned musket.

Gin doesn’t really care for lower ranked warriors, she’s also rather aloof. She can be a bit of a b*tch sometimes, especially when people undermine her.

She has a nordic steel longsword, as well as a longbow and a set of nordic steel arrows.

Immortal, and benefits from the increased strength given to her by hotel valhalla.

Genevieve was born in a large house near the Palais-Royal, in the middle of July. Most of her early years were spent in that house, as she was rarely allowed to visit her father in the Palais-Royal. The king was known for his disapproval of actresses, and especially the illegitimate children fostered by him. Still, her father still harbored some affection to her and her mother, so he made sure they were well taken care of.

When Genevieve was 13 years old, she entered the court as a Lady in Waiting for her older half-sister, Charlotte Aglaé d'Orléans. Because of this, she moved in with her sister at the Palais-Royal. While most of the occupants knew of her relation to the Duke, it was never mentioned. It wasn’t until two years later (and 2 years after Louis XIV’s death) when Phillippe II formally acknowledged her, and made an attempt to legitimize her. It could be assumed that this was because she was reaching the age of which to arrange a marriage, and Phillippe was doing his best to make sure she had a chance to rise in status.

It was that same year that Genevieve and Charlotte moved into the Château de Saint-Cloud, to live with their paternal Grandmother, the Dowager Duchess of Orleans. The Dowager was a frank and outspoken woman, who wasn’t very fond of Genevieve due to her blood status. Nevertheless, Genevieve respected her for her lack of fear.

In 1718, it was revealed that Spain was trying to assassinate Phillippe II, who was trying to cut ties with Spain because their King, Phillip V, was next in line to rule France if Louis XV died before producing an heir. At the time, Charlotte and Genevieve had returned to the Palais-Royal. One night after court in 1719, Charlotte and Genevieve were returning to their quarters, when they found a man sulking about. After figuring he was drunk and lost, they tried to lead him back towards the guest quarters, but not before pulling a blade on Charlotte. He insisted that they show him to the Duke’s room and let him enter or else he would kill Charlotte. Before he could do so, Genevieve pulled a sword from one of the decorative suits of armor, and attempted to dual him. Although she didn’t know how to fight, she was able to distract the man long enough for Charlotte to escape and find the guards. She was able to gravely wound the intruder, but he was still able to grab her and slit her throat.

When Charlotte returned with the guards, they apprehended the man, who was later hanged for his crimes. After her death, her father insisted she be buried in the Basilica of St. Denis, where he would be buried many years later.

I spent so much time on wikipedia for this. Almost all of the events are historically accurate.
