Cinnamon roll and bitter pepper

Ida had fallen asleep at the lake. It was really careless of her and she wouldn't normally do anything like this. Ida was under a shadow, thank god, or well, gods. Her skin always became red and burnt in direct sunlight. She was dreaming about fictional characters she had read about.

Since it was such a hot day (much hotter than what I was ever used to in the chilly Underworld) I had decided to go hang out at the lake. Taking a small bite from my salted caramel ice cream, I wiped some that had fallen on my "Come to the dark side, we have cookies" T-Shirt as I hummed the tune to "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers". Before I reached the lake though, I noticed someone was laying under a tree, still as a rock. Frowning in worry, I walked over to what turned out to be a small girl. Still humming, I gently pocked her on the cheek. "Hello? Miss? Are you alive?"

Ida fluttered her eyes open in and stared at the guy with her grey eyes. She saw an angelic figure. Was it a woman? No, it was not. "What are you doing?" she narrowed her eyes and stared at the figure.

"Oh, goodie, you're alive!"I exclaimed and grinned at her. " Hey, I'm Casius but you can call me Cas. I wanted to make sure you were alive because you looked very still and I didn't want you to be dead cause you're too pretty"I explained before offering her my ice cream cone. "Do you want some?"

Ida was staring at the guy and analyzing him. He was radiating happiness, and she kind of digged his shirt. She was annoyed that he disturbed her nap and dared to call her pretty. "No." Ida glared at him. He seemed to be like her other siblings.

I pouted and retreated my ice cream, taking a small bite before grinning again. "What's your name? Who's your mom? Or dad, I dunno. What are you doing here? You could burn!"I exclaimed, quickly looking her over for any reddened skin. "You look fine though"

"Why do you want to know?" she asked in a questioning tone. "Are you-? Did you just-?" she muttered and stuttered thinking he was complimenting her. It was the first time someone did. "J-just go away!" Ida said grinding her teeth. She was about to flip.

"B-But why?"I whined and pouted, giving her my best puppy eyes. "I want to be friends with you cause friends are fun and I'm bored and we can do fun stuff together! I don't want to spend my day alone, please?"

"Go find some other friends." she advised him, shooing him off. "There are plenty who would be interested in pleasing you." Ida said in a sarcastic tone.

I took a few moments to think to myself before sitting down next to her. "No, I like you. I want to be your friend. I'm Cas"

"Like me?" she moved further away from the guy. "Damn creep." Ida clicked her tongue. "Whatever, I have stuff to do." she sighed and stood up. She then realized, she had nothing to do.

"Yes, I like you"I nodded in affirmation with a shy smile. "You seem very friendly and nice. You never told me your name though"

"It's Ida. It doesn't matter though." she put hands on her hips. "Yours, young creepy man?" Ida asked, looking at the sky. Her mother was probably scheming something stupid.

"I told you before but, I'm Cas!"I introduced myself with an excited tone. "It's very nice to meet you, Ida. That's an awesome name!"I exclaimed before I pulled her into a hug, squealing happily. "Yay, we're friends!"

"Ida, generic name. Cas. Your parents have a weird ta- GET OFF ME!" she shouted trying to squirm from his hug. Ida was much shorter and it was close to impossible her to get away.

"No! Why? We're friends now"I aked puzzled as I ruffled her hair. "You have really pretty hair, Ida. Who's your mom? Or dad? My dad is Hades!"

"Off! Now!" she finally managed to leave his hug and immediately took a step back. She hated when people touched her, especially strangers. "Stop complimenting me! It's awkward!" Ida held her hair in her hands, looking like Pippi Longstocking. "Hades? What do you mean? You're obviously not a Hades kid!" she pouted.

"But it's pretty"I whined and pouted. "Yup. My dad is Hades! And my step-mom is Phone and Thanatos is like my cousin or something. They don't want people to know but they're so cute!"

"I don't believe you! It doesn't make sense!" she said crossing her arms. "Mine's Eutychia. You don't probably even know her. She's boring and stupid!" Ida bit her lip. She was secretly jealous that Cas had such powerful godparent.

"I think I might have met her once but I am not sure. Maybe whn I was a baby"I thought before frowning at a memory. "Was she one of those that tried to kill me?"

"I don't know, I don't even want to know. You're one of those creeps who have lost their mind." she stated and blew a tress from her face.

"Why would you say that?"I asked and tilted my head to the side, my voice taking on a serious tone. "I know I can be too much and I'm sorry. I just want to be your friend, you seem very nice. I can go if you want, I didn't mean to bother you"

Ida felt a sting of guilt in her chest. She usually didn't give a slightest f*ck about other people's feelings, but he never really did anything bad. "Fine, you can stay! Just stop looking at me like that!" Ida sighed. "Come on, keep talking."

"Like what?"I asked confused, my voice back tonit's normal cheerful tone. "I'm not looking at you weird, I promise!"

"I don't know, anything." she rolled her eyes, sitting back against the tree and closing her eyes, hoping to fall asleep again.
