Romilly was born with a fire in her belly and lava in her veins. It’s her anger that drives her, along with her fear. Her fear of society taught her to hide that fire, before she burned herself. She kept those unsavory emotions hidden behind a wry smile and a well timed wink. Anyone who tried to get close would just get another wall. It would take a lot of digging to find her true feelings. Never feeling like she’s good enough, the anger towards her father for just leaving her like she was nothing, the years of being a burden on her mother, the unwanted daughter, forever left behind.

Tessa is your regular girl next door. She’s the girl you vote for for class president, the one that everyone is friends with. Life seems easy for her, always smiling and happy. Tessa always found it easier to smile than frown. Being sad felt wrong, doing things wrong wasn’t  right. She had to be perfect. She got perfect grades, she was a perfect cheerleader, she could do it. Still, one bump in the road shook her like a tower of blocks. Everyone loved the girl that smiled and laughed, she wouldn’t know what they would do with the anxious girl that hid beneath that.

Marta is very serious, although she has a quiet sense of humor to her. She’s constantly feeling like she needs to be the adult/mother of the group, taking a lot of responsibility onto herself. She’s very stubborn, and would rather have things be done her way. She’s determined and studious. She never wants to fail. .

In the span of 300 years, a lot has changed personality wise for Gin. While she was often known as a virtuous and modest girl during her upbringing, as time progressed and she slowly unlearned the manners of court, she became known as rather straightforward and frank. She has no issue talking to others, and is a natural born leader. Many people who meet her find it hard to imagine that she was once a beloved member of the french court.

While Hazel’s mother is known for being headstrong and dedicated, Hazel seems to lack her mother’s tenacity. Hazel has always been a bit more shy and unsure of herself. While sharing some of her mother’s ambitious qualities, it was never in the right direction. Still Hazel has always been a quick study, yet her interests are more in history and art, rather than law. Hazel can be rather rational, usually relying on her brain to act as her compass, rather than her heart. She’s always found it a bit hard to open herself up towards others. Still, Hazel has a need to help others, which is how she found her position as a valkyrie.

 Rowan is said to be a natural born leader, although if you ask her she’ll say it was nurture not nature (if nurture is even the word she’d use). A lot of Rowan’s traits come from the heavy influence of her father. She’s known for her slightly prickly personality, especially when things aren’t moving efficiently. She’s a bit of a hardass, and tries to stick with the rules as often as possible. A lot of her actions center around her trying to please her father. As the youngest child, she sometimes feels like she has a hard act to follow, so she’s often trying her best to be the best. Of course, Rowan has a fairly dry humor, and can be a bit dorky sometimes.
