God Parent: Mars. Mars met Sarai in a dusky dive bar on the wrong side of town wearing expensive rings and riding an expensive motorcycle. There was no love between them, just lust and the taste of whiskey on their lips. Then he was gone.
Mortal Parent: Sarai Asher. A tailor living in the low income housing in Boston. She never had much to begin with, and after Romilly was born, she had even less. She tried not to resent her child, but there were days that they had no money to speak of. She couldn’t even find the father to her daughter so she could force him to pay alimony. Her life was about pinching pennies so that Romilly wouldn’t starve to death.

Personality: Romilly was born with a fire in her belly and lava in her veins. It’s her anger that drives her, along with her fear. Her fear of society taught her to hide that fire, before she burned herself. She kept those unsavory emotions hidden behind a wry smile and a well timed wink. Anyone who tried to get close would just get another wall. It would take a lot of digging to find her true feelings. Never feeling like she’s good enough, the anger towards her father for just leaving her like she was nothing, the years of being a burden on her mother, the unwanted daughter, forever left behind.
Talents: Romilly found herself in fighting. Her anger was never misplaced there, it was embraced. That anger that she kept bottled up, could finally come out. Romilly is also a fair seamstress. She learned it from her mother.
Flaws (at least three): (see personality, I mentioned them there)

Weapon (Celestial bronze/Imperial gold): Romilly has a imperial gold longsword. It doesn’t have a name because that would be ridiculous.
Abilities: Danger sense Romilly can notice when things are trying to sneak up on her. This doesn’t work when she’s sleeping or incapacitated.
Powers: Rage 3x per topic, Romilly can go into a “rage” which lets her lift things twice the weight as normal, and attacks against her have less affect. She is also 50% faster. During this, her eyes turn a red tint, similar to the red eye tint in photographs.

History: Life in Boston was never easy when you lived below the poverty line. There were nights when she noticed her mother would only drink tea, sipping it slowly and trying to make it last as long as possible. Sometimes their electricity turned off, because her mother couldn’t pay the bills. Those nights were often spent huddling in the same bed to keep warm. Romilly always knew her life wasn’t easy. She always noticed her mother wincing when she got bigger, knowing that she’d need new clothes sooner or later. She also noticed her mother getting thinner, dangerously so. She watched as her mother withered away, leaving flesh and bone sitting at the rickety kitchen table trying to mend the clothes of someone doing better than they were. Somedays it was hard for her mother to get out of bed, those days Romilly would come home from school and do the mending and tailoring herself. It was hard to explain why she didn’t do her homework the day after.
Then one day, her mother didn’t get out of bed. Romilly was eleven then. It was cancer they said, left untreated. Romilly let that eat away at her. She knew why her mother couldn’t afford it. She remembered the pencil case her mother had to buy for her, the new jeans because hers were getting too short. The community rallied together afterwards to pay for her mother’s burial.
As for Romilly, she was escorted to foster care, which is where she stayed till she was thirteen. One day after walking home from school with one of her foster siblings, they found themselves cornered by a pack of wolves. One of them communicated with her, and told her that she had to come with them. Romilly wasn’t sure what was going on, but a part of her knew she had to go with them. Lupa and her pack trained Romilly, and dropped her off at Camp Jupiter a month later.

She was okay now financially, she was not her mother, going a day without food to be able to make rent. It was weird, having it. She learned from a young age to never waste, to never buy anything you didn’t absolutely need. Money was used for survival. Now, she still had money left over. Romilly looked at the twenty dollar bill in her hand, trying to remember if she had ever seen one before her mother died. She remembered a roll of quarters, her mother’s last defence. She remembered watching her mother open that roll of quarters so she could clean their clothes at the laundromat. Compared to then, twenty dollars seems like a fortune.
“That’ll be 18 dollars.” The shop clerk at the flea market said, gesturing to the worn quilt set on display.
She flashed him her winning smile, “How does 10 dollars sound?”
“Thirteen.”
“Deal.”
Five dollars. That used to be the difference between eating or not.

God Parent: Apollo. Apollo met Nancy at the local high school, Roosevelt High. He was masquerading as a substitute music teacher while the former one was away on maternity leave. Nancy, who was the english teacher, found him charming and momentarily forgot her husband, Dennis. They had an affair throughout his substitute teaching career, ending when Mrs. Beecher returned and Nancy figured out she was pregnant. Before he left, Apollo gave her the instructions she needed to protect his child.
Mortal Parent: Nancy Hayes (Nee Simpson). Step father is Dennis Hayes. She has an older half sister, Haley. Nancy works as an english teacher at Roosevelt High, while Dennis runs the local hardware store. Even though Dennis knew of his wife’s adulteries and what had become of it, he agreed to accept Tessa as his own. He knew that in a small town, even the smallest bit of drama can ruin lives.

Personality: Tessa is your regular girl next door. She’s the girl you vote for for class president, the one that everyone is friends with. Life seems easy for her, always smiling and happy. Tessa always found it easier to smile than frown. Being sad felt wrong, doing things wrong wasn’t  right. She had to be perfect. She got perfect grades, she was a perfect cheerleader, she could do it. Still, one bump in the road shook her like a tower of blocks. Everyone loved the girl that smiled and laughed, she wouldn’t know what they would do with the anxious girl that hid beneath that.
Talents: Tessa is a gifted pianist, as well as a good singer. She also plays violin, guitar, and flute. She’s pretty good at gymnastics, and she was going to captain of the cheer squad at Roosevelt high by senior year if she hadn’t left halfway through freshman year.
Flaws (at least three): Tessa has an anxiety disorder, although she never wants to talk about it. She hides her feelings behind cheerful lies. She’s a perfectionist.

Weapon (Celestial bronze/Imperial gold): Tessa is skilled at archery, and she has a long bow with celestial bronze arrows.
Abilities: Tessa never sunburns. She can read all music on sight without having to learn the clef. She can also pick up on new songs faster.
Powers: 2x a topic. Tessa can create balls of radiant light, about the size of a baseball. This ball of light doesn’t seem to have much substance to it, but Tessa can still hold it. These can either work as little lanterns, illuminating the area around her with a radius of 5 feet, or they can be thrown and will burn whoever they touch besides Tessa.

History: Tessa grew up with the knowledge that Dennis Hayes was her biological father. There was no reason to question it, they looked pretty similar. She was a normal girl growing up in a picturesque small town. She made friends easily, and found herself to be popular in school. Sometimes when she was walking home alone, she’d see weird things. People she didn’t recognize who stared at her a little longer than what was polite. Shadows that appeared and then disappeared when she blinked. She would never mention these to anyone, her mind convincing her that they would lock her up in a psych ward for it. She still tried to live a normal life. By the time she got to highschool, everything was perfect. She made the cheerleading squad, she even started dating someone on the football team. Then, when she was walking home alone, she was attacked by a cyclops. Thanks to its big size, it was rather slow. Tessa was able to outrun it, and make it home. She told her mom what she saw, and demanded answers for every weird thing that she saw before. That was when her mom told her. The next day she was at camp half blood. Her friends back home were told that she was accepted into a prestigious boarding school.

She’s constantly feeling like she needs to be the adult/mother of the group, taking a lot of responsibility onto herself. She’s very stubborn, and would rather have things be done her way. She’s determined and studious. She never wants to fail.

Powers: Marta can create and control ice. Usually frost and thin sheets but in battle she can create shards of ice and send them at people. She can do this 3x a topic, and the ice can be no bigger than the equivelant of a pint of water.

History (at least five sentences): Marta was born to Skadi in Helsinki, along with her brother. She lived in a nice cottage outside of the city, spending the weekends going to different parks. When she and her brothers were 10 years old, they relocated to Boston, USA. She learned the language rather quickly, as she was already in english classes back home. Her dad hired an Elf to teach them magic, which she already excels at. She spends a lot of time studying magic books and learning about the norse world. She spends a lot of time at school too. She’s on the field hockey team as well as student vice president and straight A student.
