| It was rather late in the evening when Claude approached Quinn. A twinkle in his eyes, and a broad smile spread across his lips, as he swayed excitedly in front of her. “Quinn?” He had said rather whimsically, the smile on his face never dropping for a moment. “Can we go bird-watching today?” He knew it was late, and she’d probably not want to go seeing as the sun looked like it was about to fade under the skyline at any moment, but that’s what made it fun. It was more interesting to try spotting birds when this close to nighttime, there was also the fact a few nocturnal species started to appear from the depths of their slumber to grace the world with their presence around this time period.
“It’ll be a fun experience,” He assured her, his head tilting ever so slightly. “You don’t have anything else planned do you?” Knowing her she probably did, but that didn’t me he couldn’t at the very least try to convince her to tag along. He didn’t mind going by himself, bird-watching was always a more exhilarating experience by one’s self anyway, but he wanted to share this brilliant experience with someone besides himself or his sister.
His mother would always take him bird-watching whenever she could. It was experience that both of them enjoyed, and it was how she had met his father in the first place. So in a way, he sort of owed this activity for his existence because his father might not have encountered his mother if it wasn’t for her keen interests in wild-life of the feathered variation.
Technically they weren't supposed to be in the Forest, but kids around the camp did a lot of things that they we’re suppose to do. What’s the worse that could possibly happen? He doubted that there were any monsters lurking around the boundaries, when the camp boundaries we’re stronger than they’ve ever been before.” The birds are a little shy, but I promise that we’ll at least spot something of interest tonight.”
