Omaira Hakeem
Name: Omaira Hakeem
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
fc// (if there's one): Karidja Touré
Country of Origin: United States of America
Place of Birth (Olympus, city or town): Orlando, Florida
Race: African-American
Skin color: Dark
Hair color: Black
Eye color: Dark brown
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 137 lbs.
Body type: Fit and athletic
Follower of: Seker (Egyptian god of craftsmen, building, and agriculture; an aspect of Ptah; minor god of the Underworld)
Mortal parents: Majida (distant descendant of Semerkhet) and Abu Hakeem (Arabic)
Personality: Omaira is a thoughtful day-dreamer who would rather spend an entire day studying scrolls than talking about boys. She's very dedicated to her work and magic and isn't one for pulling pranks on the other students. She's not very out-going, but she'll be friendly with anyone who takes the time to talk to her. She likes to break the rules and push boundaries, experimenting with different forms of magic--even if it's very risky. She likes to help others and will aid someone to the best of her abilities if they ask her.
Talents: Arts and crafts, translating hieroglyphics, making things in general, playing the guitar, fencing
Flaws (at least three): She can get completely absorbed in work to the point where she is unresponsive to whoever's trying to get her attention. She also takes huge risks in magic to the point where literally burning to a crisp is possible. Omaira also won't tolerate anything she deems as "stupidity" and may snap at the unfortunate person who committed the act.
Weapon(s): A standard staff, wand, twine, ink (and yes, this counts as weaponry because you use it for spells),
shabti statues, and numerous amulets
Magic: Omaira is a
shau, or an amulet-maker. She carries many amulets with her of all types, ranging from physical things such as a sword or a sphinx to elements such as fire or water. Depending on the specifics of the amulet, the rate at which she can activate them changes. Normally (such as summoning a boat), Omaira can activate one per post with a two post cool down. If the amulet is exceptionally powerful (such as summoning a creature), it requires a two post activation and a five post cool down. If the amulet is below average (such as summoning a weapon), she can activate two per post with a one post cool down.
Omaira can summon minor elements with her staff (such as a ball of fire), but this drains her very easily. It takes a one post activation with a four post cool down.
Omaira is also good at statuary, or making
shabti. She can make them very realistic and can activate one per post with a one post cool down.
History: Omaira Hakeem was born to Majida and Abu Hakeem in Orlando, Florida. Her father, Abu, was originally from Iran but moved to America when he was young. Her mother was born in American, though she has Egyptian ties and is a distant descendant of the pharaoh Semerkhet. She grew up knowing her heritage and that she had the ability to perform magic. From an early age she could read and write hieroglyphics.
When she became of age, she was accepted by the magicians of the First Nome to begin training. Omaria discovered her speciality:
sau, or amulet-making. She trained in the First Nome until the age of 15; she was then assigned to the Twenty-First Nome. There, she was introduced to the Path of the Gods magic, and she chose to follow Seker. She has resided there for over two years.

Notes: Can speak some Arabic and can definitely read it. Rarely uses Seker's magic. Has a permanent tattoo of the hieroglyphic for Ma'at on her tongue.
