Brink of insanity (private)

Walter, still pissed off about Sophia and a few weeks ago, got out of bed that morning, feeling angry, like he had been ever since. He now had been rejected by Sophia and lost Agnes. His life was hell. Walter wanted nothing more than to have one day where he felt accepted, felt like he wasn't going to kill someone. He had liked Sophia so much- and by that, he means he liked touching a girl like that so much. He sighed, and headed to the showers and grabbed breakfast. Walter headed to New Rome with an intent today- he was going to the Virgos and putting a f*cking boulder through their front door. On the way there, though, he spotted Evie, and he had an idea. Walter wanted so badly just to relieve himself, and while he wasn't super attracted to Evie, he figured he'd still...enjoy himself. He put on a mischevious smile and went up to her.

"Hey, Evie," Walter said. "You're looking fine today."

Evie was sitting on a bench reading. She looked up when she heard her name though, she easily spotted the owner of the voice. She immediately rolled her eyes, but she did give a small smile, how could she not? She's literally known him for eighty some years. "Hey, Walter!" She said, ignoring the flirty comment, which was something she was also used to.

Walter sat next to her. "Whatcha reading?" he asked, peering at her book. "Are you free today? We should hang out," he said, putting an arm around her, resting it on the bench. "Man, Evie, I never realized how gorgeous you looked in the morning sun," he said, being softer with his tone. He smiled at her, trying to flirt it up, but using a different approach, an approach she wasn't used to.

Evie held the book up in front of his face, so he could see the title. Not really wanting to put it down yet. She eventually did put it down though, after he complimented on how gorgeous she was. She lowered the book, and raised an eyebrow at him. He was never his nice, not to her at least. Evie had always been the one girl in his life who he had never cared for in that specific way. "Thanks?" She said, suspiciously. Maybe he was just genuinely being nice, maybe that Sophia girl he kept talking about fixed his brain or something. Would be about time. "What's up?" She asked.

"Nothing's really up, I was just going to the Virgos to give them a piece of my mind, and maybe a piece of the Earth, when I saw you sitting here. We should hang out today. We haven't gone out together in like forever. Like, quite literally almost a century." Walter examined her, trying to read her emotions.

"You know, technically we actually went out together every single night for more than half a century. Because that's how long we were in the casino, together." Evie said, "What did the Virgo's do to you that's got you so riled up? I thought you had a thing for the one Virgo that looks like Agnus?" Evie asked him, sometimes she swore he was still a little kid a cute little kid, but a little kid regardless.

"Well, yeah, but that was mindlessly, eating those stupid flower cookies or whatever, distracted. That wasn't like, us hanging out every night just because we wanted to." Walter sighed as she mentioned the Virgos. "She broke up with me a few weeks ago. And her brother's an asshole. The oldest, I mean, the First Cohort bullshit guy. I don't want to talk about it, it makes me really pissed off. Anyway, so going out, where should we go?"

"Wow. It's not like you to be so upset over a girl who broke up with you weeks ago." Evie said, impressed with the girl, she really must have been a lot like Angus for her to have such an effect on him. The last time that happened, they got stuck in the Casino. "I don't care where, just no casinos this time, OK?" She suggested, laughing a bit.

"Yeah, I know. It's not really upset, it's like really angry. I didn't like her enough that it mattered, it annoys me how now two Virgo girls have rejected me, or didn't like me. And her brother's a complete asshole. I want some major revenge on that family." Walter sighed. He looked at Evie. "Alright, no casinos. Or, at least, ones we'll get stuck in for 70 years," he said and laughed. He stood up, looking around, his eyes following a few girls walking by. "Let's go to that Italian place, it's really good," Walter said, looking back at Evie.

"Just don't do anything too stupid, they're extremely powerful. Or so I've been told." Evie told him, as she stood up and put her book back into her bag. "Italian sounds good." She knew the place he was talking about, there was only one Italian restaurant in New Rome. She was meaning to find someone to go try it out with her anyway, so why not with Walter?

Walter rolled his eyes as Evie told him about how powerful the Virgos were. He stood up and started walking to the Italian place, walking a lot closer to Evie than normal, so his left half of his body was behind her and his right half was over her shoulder. "So, have you been having any luck with finding friends or romance, since we've escaped?"

"Friends yes. Romance no. But not really looking for it." Evie said, rolling her eyes right back at him when he decided he could just walk that close into her personal space. He knew she wasn't over her fiancé's death yet, even if he died over 70 some years ago, to her he had only died a few months ago. She figured Walter was too angry to take a hint right now though, so she let him continue flirting with her, it was nothing she wasn't used too. He did this every time he got his heart broken by a girl, at first it hurt, now she just didn't care and made sure he didn't go to far with it.

Walter nodded. "Right. No romance. Romance is bad." He opened the door once they arrived at the Italian place, and walked in after Evie. His eyes followed a few girls walking out of the restaurant. "So, who's the friends? Anyone you think I'd know?" he asked, talking louder because the restaurant was loud with everyone talking- it was packed today.

"hmm probably not. I'm sure you'll meet them eventually." She told him in a louder voice then usual, walking through the doors. There was a considerably long waiting line. But it seemed to be going fast enough that they wouldn't be waiting too long. She was glad for this, because him staring at other girls was getting annoying. Especially since he wasn't being as subtle as he thought he was being.
