"Nobody"

She looked up from her book to stare at the fumbling mess of a boy standing before her with her dark, seemingly bottomless eyes and raised a perfect eyebrow in question.
"Yes?" she asked in a bored, monotone voice, flipping to the next page of the clearly old, tiny, red, leather-bound book in her hands, the nearly yellow paper crunching beneath her perfectly manicured and elegant fingers.
"I have been meaning to ask you... I-I mean, I've noticed you around before and... We have some of the same classes..." stammered the slightly younger boy. By two months, three days and twelve minutes, according to his birth certificate.
"Go on, don't be scared, I don't bite" she changed her voice to a more relaxed, airy and happy tone, even going as far as to give her classmate a smile, the calming effect of her sweetness apparent in the man's facial features.
"O-Okay. I've seen you around before and you're really pretty. I'm -" he started with a deep breath before she interrupted him with a sign of her hand, uncrossing her long legs, her short skirt riding even higher as she stood up, revealing more of her smooth skin in its wake.
"I know who you are" she started, eliciting a quiet gasp from her suitor. She made a show out of marking the page and closing the book, basking in the dramatic silence she created that he didn't dare to break, breathless and desperate for her next words.
"And I know why you're here. I have to say, I am intrigued by your offer. Escort me to my next class and we shall discuss this on the way" she demanded, a playful gleam in her eyes and an attractive smirk on her dark burgundy lips as he rushed to open the door for her, ever the gentleman his foster parents raised him to be after his alcoholic father shot his prostitute mother in the head when he was only 3 years old.
"I'm really happy you're giving me a chance" he said offhandedly with a shy smile and hopeful eyes as they stepped into the garden at the back of the library.
"Oh, my dearest pet" she laughed a cruel and menacing sound as she pulled out her dagger from the swen-in pocket on the inside of her skirt, the feel of the cold metallic handle in her hand and the look of terror written plainly all over his face causing a rush of adrenaline in her blood and a fire to start in her veins,
"I always love the chance to toy with my prey." Those were her last words as she slit his throat before the boy could even scream, petrified by his own all-consuming fear.
"I'm sorry, but you won't be missed" she shrugged as the lifeless body dropped in front of her with a dull thud, his muddy brown eyes glazed over, the corpse of the once happy but unimportant young man painting a pretty picture on the stained grass. Opening her book again, she used the bloody tip of her knife to cross his name off her list before licking the blade clean, the cold metal contrasting with the warm, fresh liquid. With a hum of pure pleasure, she hid the weapon again, kicking the body to the side in a careless gesture as she made her way towards the main building of her university, covering her eagerness to locate her next target with the same bored expression as before.
Why should she care? He was a nobody after all. And no one cared about nobodies.

"The attic"

It was a quiet day at the manor. The owner - a son of a very wealthy family and the owner of the largest communications company in the world - was away for the weekend on some unknown business of his. But the house was anything but empty due to the three maids working on their weekly Sunday clean-up. Each had a floor to themselves, the younger one being in charge of the top floor, where the guest rooms were located. The 25 year old was dutifully cleaning one of the huge bedrooms, music filling her loud head from her headphones, blocking the world out.
Once she was finally done, she decided to head to the second floor to help out the others. The sight of an open door at the end of the hallway stopped her dead in her tracks though, her curiosity peaked. It was the door that never opened, the door that led to the attic. Like in a trance, she couldn't stop herself from approaching, intrigued by the secrets hiding in the unexplored room. No one was allowed up there, it was the owner's sanctuary, his own private place.
All the rules went out the window though as she slowly climbed up the short stairway, finding herself in a small, hostile feeling place engulfed in pitch black darkness. As her eyes slowly got used to the dark, she searched for the heavy curtains clocking out the light. Oh, how she wished she hadn't once the sun revealed the gruesome secret of the room. Skulls in a glass stand by the wall, a deformed body of what used to be a young girl - even younger than her - discarded by the corner, a vast array of all kinds of killing tools proudly laid out on a small table, like a collection, some with what looked like dried blood still on them. A barely audible gasp escaped her lips as she took a small step back, crashing on a wall of flesh she identified as her employer one second too late.
"I'm glad you finally found this", he started as he placed his hand on her mouth to silence her scream, "it was starting to get boring. Don't tell me you never wondered why there was always an open job position. Or why I never got a partner for more than two weeks. Don't you remember her?" he asked, turning her head forcefully to the direction of the corpse.
"She left a few days after you came here. Nice girl. Quiet, very polite. Extremely beautiful. But they all were - what would be the point otherwise?" he said in an indifferent tone with a sigh, gesturing towards the skulls she had noticed earlier with an almost bored expression on his face. Turning her around in his arms, he wiped a few tears off her cheek with the pad of his thumb before he placed a gentle kiss on her lips, biting her bottom lip with enough force to draw blood, enjoying the metallic taste on his tongue as she whimpered in pain and fear.
"You can't deny it though, this is a very relaxing and peaceful place" he gave her a grin - and she finally noticed the madness in his eyes. Before she could run, he grabbed an ax from the table and took her head off, her eyes to remain forever wide and filled with terror and unshed tears, her mouth open in a silent plea for her life.
"After all, there is a certain tranquility in death."
