Personality: Maya is a soft spoken girl, but is in no way shy. In her group of friends she would probably be considered the "mom" of the group. She cares deeply for her friends and family, and even tries to see the good in people she just met.

Weapon (Celestial bronze/Imperial gold/Egyptian bronze/Obsidian): Maya is generally well rounded with most of the commonly used weapons. She does prefer her obsidian bow and arrows, but she also it quite handy with clubs. Maya also likes carrying a small and easily hidden knife with her, for when she runs out of arrows during battle.

History: 
Maya grew up in the small village of Manzute, Mexico. To give a picture of how small the village was, there were only about 25-30 kids in the local school that she attended.

Maya had a generally happy childhood, she lived with her mother and grandfather until she was 13, when she was magically transported to camp Azteca. Of course, her life wasn't without some hardship. Her mother had given birth to her at the young age of sixteen, which caused a lot of moral problems in the extremely Catholic-centered village. Over the years, those issues had all but disappeared, especially after people met the young girl.

The only one to have actually had detested the existence of Maya was her grandmother. The woman had all but disowned Maya's mother, and at one point had even attempted to trick her daughter into taking pills that would cause an abortion. Luckily, Maya's mother noticed the trick before any of the pills could do lasting damage to her daughter. However, her mother swears up and down that the pills are the reason that Maya was born blind in one eye. After that, the old hag had given up, and chose to ignore Maya and her existence, up until her death, when Maya was 5 years old.

Even though her grandmother hated her, her grandfather did not. He spoiled her with gifts, as only a grandparent knows how. He accepted Maya instantly, the moment she had been born.

At the age of 13, Maya woke up on a beach in Camp Azteca. She passed her trials with surprising ease, and was placed in the Shorn Ones...
