PostSubject: Rowan Bates- Daughter of Hecate   Sat Jun 10, 2017 5:44 pm

Name: Rowan Nicky Bates
Age: 18
Gender: female
Sexuality: Bisexul
fc// (if there's one): n/a

Country of Origin: Ireland
Place of Birth (Olympus, city or town): Olympus
Race: Human
Skin color: Caucasian with a bit of a natural glow
Hair color: Red
Eye color: Brown
Height: 5’0”
Weight: 120 lbs
Body type: gymnast

God Parent: Hecate-Goddess of witchcraft, magic and necromancy.
Mortal Parent: Jamison Bates

Personality: Rowan has a natural affinity for all things dead and of body origin. She finds the undead, or up until recently the thought of the undead, to be quite interesting and often asks the ghosts around camp for information about the undead and dead. With a love of knowledge the girl spends much time alone and has a bit of an attitude towards other people, making her seem a bit of a brat or emo. The only company she really enjoys is that of Alucard as well as her ghost friends. It’s a bit of an annoyance to the other campers but she tends to keep herself far enough away that they don’t really notice her most days. Rowan is also a vegetarian by choice, take that as a flaw or personality trait but she just isn’t a fan of the taste of meat. She DOES however still eat fish from time to time.
Talents: Photographic Memory, quick learner as well as a natural habit for sketching and drawing.
Flaws (at least three): Her personality leaves her a bit distant from the other campers and apart from that Rowan finds human beings to be very boring and would prefer that of Demons or Ghosts. She’s also a bit of an Agoraphobe. Not to the point of freaking out in the dining hall but if at a large concert there is a bit of a panic in her tone as well as appearance.
Weaknesses: Socializing with people, flirting, mental math
Pets: Hellhound female named Gaz. She stands three and a half feet at the shoulders and the crystal around her neck is a simple locator crystal so that Rowan can never lose track of her.
Likes: Necromancy, Gaz and Alucard, Ghosts, Magic, Recreational Drugs, TEA! <3
Dislikes: Alcohol, Meat, Most people
Hobbies: Rowan has a love of books and spends most of her time reading and practicing spells as well as simply enjoying the company of Alucard and Gaz.
Dream job: As far as dream jobs go Rowan’s is a simple one. She would love nothing more than to live on her own in a quiet place and write books for a living, under a pen name of course.
What do they want the most in life right now?: For the time being the daughter of hecate simply wishes for nothing more than to learn all she can of her magic powers and that of those before her.
Secrets: She doesn’t really tell people, mostly because she doesn't have many friends, but she is very much an agoraphobe and doesn’t really tell people who her father is seeing as his position in the corporate ladder is a very high up one as well as his place in the government.
Worst fear: Like most old fashioned wiccans her fear is getting burned alive, not because of a fear of fire but rather a fear of ending up like her ancestors.
Ideal boyfriend/girlfriend: As far as ideal partners go, seeing as she is in fact bisexual, the girl wants nothing more than someone who can bring out the better side of her that she has yet to find. Be it a girl who’s preppy and helps her grow or a boy who simply gets to make her smile and laugh a bit more the girl yearns for compassion from others. The only one to ever care for her is Alucard and that simply remains due to his bound agreement with her; if she dies, then he does as well.
Insecurities: She has absolutely no confidence what so ever. Be it appearance or personality the girl is hopeless and a rather depressing person to be around at times.
Former/current relationships: She has no experience in the field of dating.
How parents met: It’s rather a cute story to be honest. Jamison and Hecate, who he called Raven, met while Jamison was on a business trip to Transylvania and happened upon a book store in the older part of the town. She was looking back at the Greek Mythological section as well as the fantasy books on magic and had dropped a few from her hands. Being the gentleman he was Jamison helped her out and then invited her to coffee to try and learn more about her as well as why she was obsessed with magic and myth. From there the two continued dating and for a time Jamison lived in Transylvania with his Raven. The two never married at a church but eloped in the small cabin she had on the outskirts of town. They had been dating for two years and Hecate told Jamison of her true identity after their wedding and honeymoon. It changed nothing for the now twenty-five year old. When he was twenty-seven the woman surprised him with the news of their child to be born, a girl born of love and a lucky cup of coffee. Once the rule was implicated of Gods and Goddesses having no contact with their children Hecate inevitably retreated back to Olympus and birthed Rowan there, having Hermes send her down to her father afterwards. The two have not seen one another since the girl was born but Jamison often says Rowan reminds him of Hecate, or rather her love of books and knowledge.
Time in camp (Greeks)/the Legion (Romans)/Hotel Valhalla (Norse)/Brooklyn House (Egyptians): 4 years

Weapon (Celestial bronze/Imperial gold/Egyptian bronze): For the most part Rowan uses her hands, blood and chalk for her spell casting but there are instances where she is forced to use any number of Magical Tomes or Artifacts that she has collected through her quests and happened upon them in stores who had no idea of their power. Apart from that, and for most close combat, the woman wields a pair of Chakrams in Stygian Iron that can connect together and be thrown much like a discus. This weapon, which she has named Hellfire, is bound to her much like Percy’s sword in the case that it will always return to her in the form of a miniature version of itself and around her neck on a chord. Other people are of course allowed to use it but unless they can break the binding incantations and ruins on them she has to be the one to allow them to wield her magical weapon.
Abilities: Rowan possesses the ability to see, communicate and interact with any for of ghost or paranormal specter that roams the world/dimension she is currently on. Along with that she can write out a simple summoning circle at any time and summon the demon who has sworn himself to her. This requires no energy and he can stay for as long as he wishes but in order for him to fight she must use blood magic to summon him from the beginning. She also has the ability to perform telekinesis on a small level and can lift nothing larger than 15 lbs. This can be done without using magic and has come in handy when studying or mixing a brew. Like most demigods as well she has telepathy with her mother’s sacred animals.
Powers: All of her magic stems from either one of three forms; blood, sacrificial or dark. Her Sacrificial Magic is the strongest and most potent of the three but that doesn’t mean the other two aren’t strong. Her Sacrificial Magic is typically saved for any one of the high holidays of magic and magical events throughout the course of a year such as a blood moon or supermoon and such. These sacrifices are never human in nature and require more focus and preparation than her simple magic. They work on anyone but if their will is strong enough it gets progressively easier. The incantations can be of any nature, good or bad, and she has a 75% of getting the magic to work if everything goes right. There are no bad effects to people who are helping her using said magic and in most cases it is simply her paying tribute to her mother as well as other forms of magic throughout the ages. Red or Harvest moons are used in order to strengthen one's connection to the dead while the moon is visible. Super Moons are good for her to use magic in general and on those nights the cooldown times are all halved.

Blood Magic is a bit trickier. With this form of magic she tends to set up a magic circle with ruins set at particular spaces and it is always written in either salt or white chalk. The spells only work with varying amounts of blood through several different creatures and beasts. There is a 50% chance of the spells to work if rushed and doon poorly but if the runes and magic circles are done correctly the spell works without a doubt, they simply leave her more tired than Dark or Ritual magic seeing as she is using both magic and blood and they run in short supply.

Dark Magic is one of the easiest forms of magic for any wiccan to use. This form of magic simply relies on her magical energy as well as her ability to recite an incantation of any length. This is one of the more loose forms of magic seeing as several magic users throughout the millennia have tampered and altered several spells and come up with their own. So long as she can recite the spell fully they work 100% of the time but the biggest thing she can do is a shroud of darkness that only she can see through that has a maximum reach of one mile from where she cast the spell.

History: From the time she was born her father Jamison dedicated his life to making sure his daughter was well off, cared for and loved. Despite all of these going mostly according to plan the red haired girl never really enjoyed her father’s company. He was formal, mortal and a businessman all of which bored Rowan. In doing so she began reading and testing spells and incantations to try and liven up her life, like most kids and young teens. During one such trial something actually happened for once. The spell and circled summoned a demon unlike that of any of the books she had read before. His name, Alucard, and from her summoning he was now bound till death to help protect and serve the young wiccan. With a curiosity spanning wider than the pacific she confronted her father about the summoning after a few other attempts at it to make sure she wasn't seeing anything. Sitting his now thirteen year old daughter down and explaining how he met her mother as well as her true nature things began unfolding and darker idas crept into the young girl’s head. See, Rowan was never liked in school, nor did she like it to begin with. She had known from a young age that she fancied both genders and, having gone to a private school, it was very uncommon to have an open bisexual or homosexual student. With the power found out, and after months of practicing, she began getting into trouble and coming very close to exposing magic. Her father, now fed up with the trouble she was getting into, decided it be best she have a safer environment to practice magic as well as whatever else she could come up with. Taking a trip to New York for a while and traveling to Long Ireland the Irish businessman drove to a camp that his wife had told him about in regards to others like Rowan. He dropped her off after explaining and Rowan entered without question, seeing as it gave off a different kind of aura. From there she went on to become the person she is today, or rather the wiccan.
RP Example: n/a
Notes:
Summoned Demon: A shriek in the depths, a flicker of flames, and suddenly you're challenged by a daunting creation of darkness and blood. Four bleak eyes stare at you with a terrifying grimace, and another shriek rushes from its oozing mouth in an abysmal surprise. Spiky tendrils adorns its withered head, which itself is devoid of any expression. Quickened breathing escapes the creature's twisting nostrils set within a pudgy nose. Its withered head sits atop a lofty, powerful body. Shadowy curls coil around its torso, but what this means will hopefully remain a mystery. The creature treads forward, its two legs stumbling, carry its fiery body with a restless energy. A powerful tail swirls behind it, electric energies pulse from it with every movement. Four gigantic wings extend themselves fully. Fiery bones, and incorporeal membranes stretch upward as a show of potential force. The being looks toward the sky, content with the circumstances for being summoned. His name is Alucard, the first of a long line of Vampiric Demons who wander through the various hellish realms of the universe.

1. Change the ability for the weight of lifting microwaves with her mind. Because microwaves are actually pretty effing heavy lol. I'd suggest stuff like books, chairs for an ability. But to lift heavier things it's going to have to take some energy out of her.

2. I need you to explain more in detail what the sacrificial magic does and what not before I can even think to approve it or not.

I'll let you know if I find anything else after your edits
