Make love not war (Rhy)

Samantha staggered under the impact, her shield arm aching from the blow. The small demigod pushed back, her opponent stumbling as his head was whacked by her shield, falling to one knee. The seventeen year old's sword flashed out, the flat of the blade striking his hand and disarming him.
He knelt on the ground mouth wide with surprise, till she kicked him back with a leather booted foot. The battle to the red hair demigod was nought but uncontrolled chaos. She had no idea where the fifth cohort was, or even if any of them were still fighting. Sweat dripped down her face, her limbs screamed with exhaustion. Sam felt like she had been fighting for her entire life.
Sam tried to catch her breath, but another demigod came to face her. Their blades clashed, the ringing of imperial gold loud.

Unfortunately for Samantha, she got the worse of this fight. A wicked blow knocked her shield from her grasp, a back hand blow lost her helmet, her red hair escaping it's ponytail like a river of flame. Sam hit the ground, the impact driving the air from her lungs.
The other demigod was slow to advance, her eyes cold, hungry, as if she wanted to savour this victory. Sam gathered her breath, tightening her grip on her sword, waiting, watching. She approached Sam, the prone demigod struck out with a leg, swiping her legs out from under her. Sam pointed the blade at her throat, her foe yielding.

Without a pause this time, Sam joined the battle, fighting with one sword, her hair flowing around her like a river of flame.
She paused suddenly, her eyes catching sight of something. Or rather someone. A handsome young man, a legionnaire, no a centurion by the look of him. A surprising thought invaded her mind, Sam imagined kissing him.

Niko was surronded by 10 legionnaires from the 1st and second cohorts. Niko remained calm as they all charged at him at once. He then proceeded to blocke all of their overhead strikes with his sheild while going down on one knee. He then thrusts his sheild upward sending them all off balance. Once they are all stumbling backward hen then uses his powers to control all 10 of their swords, making then levitate. He then turns the sword on the legionnaire who by then have realized they are out classed. They then all admit defeat. Once they do
Niko then drops their sword and moves onward.

While moving onwars Niko then notices a pretty girl who happened to be staring at him.

Samantha watched him fight, he was impressive, easily defeating ten other legionnaires. She thought that she could do the same, if the Legion allowed her to use her power. Sam found herself walking towards him, sword at the ready. Magic or not, Samantha was determined to face him.
"Care to fight one on one?" Sam taunted, surprised at herself for taunting, even more surprised as her mind kept wandering from battle to actual romantic ones. She tried to push them aside and focus on fighting, to focus on the battle at hand.

"Uhm, Certainly. Feel free to tome at me with everything you have." Niko then get in a fighting stance ready to take this girl on in battle. He takes a moment to breath and focus his thoughts on battle instead of how pretty she is. The centurion then open his eyes and they gleam with determination.

"Thank you." Samantha said, wondering why Sam was thanking him for the chance to fight him. Fight him and win, she thought. Sam tightened her grip, feeling the winds of magic swirl invisibly around her. Pressing against her mind, she wanted to use it, long to do it. However, she needed to abide by the by the restrictions placed upon her.
Ignoring the voices telling her that she could not win, the voices telling her that she did not have the strength to face him, Sam charged.

Niko got ready for the girl as she charged at him. He knew that this probably might be easy for him to win but decided not to leave anything up to chance. He then puts his shield out in front of him waiting for her first attack. If she attacked him head-on like he would expect her to he would easily knock her off balance with a shield thrust.

Sam collided with his shield only to be sent sprawling onto her back by his well time shield thrust. It was quite an easy feat as Samantha happened to be on the smaller side of tiny. She possessed an appearance that made her seem to have more in common with someone's little sister than a demigod.
Her sword skittered away out of her grasp, unarmed with the maelstrom of battle all around her,

Samantha reacted on instinct. She drew on the wellspring of magic, the invisible ocean of sorcery that she was ever aware of in her mind. The red haired legionnaire drew upon it's fickle, ever shifting tides, focusing her rage, her pain, her hate into a single shove.
He might avoid being thrown back, he might not, Samantha might miss or fail to draw enough power for the spell to be fully effective.

Niko had done it. He had countered here attack and predicted it perfectly. The centurion has successfully knocked her down and disarmed her. But Niko still had a feeling this wasn't quite over. He then quickly went over to her and pointed his sword at her neck. He had expected her give up at this point but something happened. Some thing unexpected. He was then pushed back a couple by an invisible force. After flying back a couple feet Niko landed on his back and dropped his sword.

The jolt of elation Samantha felt from watching her foe be sent sprawling, vanished following the sorceress feedback from casting the spell. Her already aching and heavy feeling limbs now roared with pain and seemed to be made of concrete. It felt as though small fires burned within her mind, her forehead throbbing to the rapid beat of her heart, each pulse shooting lances of liquid agony into her. The act of using her sorcery to shove or throw someone happened to be exhausting. Not teleport level of exhausting but exhausting none the less.

Sam groggily managed to force herself to sit up, feeling dizzy. The currents of magic pressed against her mind, yet she knew all too well the perils of using too much sorcery. Samantha struggled slowly to her feet, a voice in her head screaming at her to get a weapon, to fight. Survival depended on it. Suddenly, she felt light headed and Samantha fell to one knee, for the moment thoughts of war and fighting forgotten as she tried to get her vision to stop blurring in and out of focus.

Niko felt pain in his back from the impact of the ground. He had blacked out for a second from the pain of the impact. But when he came to he saw the girl slowly trying to get up. Niko then get up and grabs his sword. He then walks over to the girl and points his sword toward her neck.

Pain and exhaustion hammered into Samantha, the ethereal currents of magic pressing against her mind, eager for her to use it. Eldritch power flickered briefly on the edge of her finger tips, but.. Sam could not focus her mind, the agony and sheer level of exhaustion rendered it impossible.
Sam knew the perils of pushing herself too much with magic, agonising headaches were the least of those dangers. She had to fight against the desire to lie down, to rest, her tired mind wanted rest, her body screamed for it.

Through blurry vision, strands of red hair falling in front of her eyes, Sam watched the other demigod recover. Unlike her, he seemed able to fight, able to take advantage of her own weakness, her own inability to fight.
As he made his approached, Samantha shakily raised a hand as if in attempt to cast some manner of magic. Nothing happened of course, yet the gesture of defiance made it appear like the fifth cohort girl was not about to go down.

He walked forward and aimed the tip of his sword at her neck. She tried to ignore the blade and instead glare up at him with defiant if tired eyes.

Niko looked at the girl who tried to use her power again. Once she failed she still looked up at him with a defiant. "You do realize that you are in no position to fight right now. If this were an actual fight you would most likely be killed right now. Please tell as to why?

"I find it is better to go down fighting, than running or surrendering." Samantha responded, her voice sounding tired. "Yourself?" Her gaze softened as she found herself losing her focus as the red head stared into his eyes.

Niko the saw her expression soften as his own green eyes did as well."I suppose it is. But to be perfectly honest I have never really thought of myself ever being in a situation like that."The red haired centurion then sheathed his sword and offered his hand to help up his fellow legionnare.

"Maybe you should consider it." Sam suggested quietly, besides if a demigod lost a fight against a monster, chances were they would not accept your surrender nor would you want to be their prisoner.
Not that anyone would want to be a prisoner.
Samantha accepted the offered hand, privately doubting that she could of managed it on her own. She stood, vision blurring, her head feeling faint. It vanished after a few heartbeats of uncertainty, leaving her with the numbing exhaustion.

Niko helps the girl up and then looks at her. She looked and sounded exhausted. If he had to guess the source of this would have to be the power he had used on him."Are you Alright?"

Sam managed to keep herself on her feet, she looked up at him. "I am fine." She insisted. "Magic and the spells can have an effect on the body as well as the mind." It was difficult to explain even to her half brothers and sisters. Samantha happened to be an incredibly powerful sorceress, with sorcery being an innate talent to her, drawn to her it's currents ever brushing her mind, like waves against the shore.

Her heartbeat rapidly in her chest, the centurion up close was even more handsome and attractive. Like herself, he was a great warrior, possibly even greater than many within the Legion.

Niko looked at her more closely and notice how pretty this girl actually is. He stares into her green eyes with his own green eyes. His heartbeat then speeds up a little and he begins blush a little. the wind the blows both of their head of red hair to one side. "Well, then I guess you really shouldn't use them that often. "

She had to force her mind to focus. "I disagree." Samantha said with a small nervous chuckle. "It is part of my godly parentage." She explained, her mother's heritage, her gift with sorcery allowed her to channel the fickle winds of magic and cast it into her spells. She could throw ball of fire by channeling her hate, by focusing her mind and almost entering a meditative trance Sam possessed the power to teleport herself and a couple of others at a distant of one to three miles.
Samantha often suffered significant magical feedback after casting such a spell, so she tended to avoid casting it unless the situation required it.

"With what is happening now i would you shouldn't use it alot. you basically immobilized. something could happen. Maybe if this magic didn't come with such a high cost then you could use it frequently but at this stage you could get hurt." Niko was talking with genuine passion and concern but he didn't know why he was.

"That is why it is wise to fight with your comrades. My powers aids them and theirs aids mine." The red haired girl explained, before going on to answer with a question as was her habit. "Do you know much about sorcery?" Samantha felt her heart touched by his passion and concern. An alien feeling of attraction flickered in her heart, Sam wondered what it was about him that drew her. She wondered what it might be like to kiss him, to feel his lips against her own.

"I honestly can say I do not know much about sorcery. Mainly due to the fact of my heritage. Why do you ask?" The red head meat the girl's greens eyes once more. they were shining like a pair of emeralds to him. Niko's heart beats a little fast.

"I can show you." Sam answered quickly, her voice eager. Few within the Legion ever wanted to know much about sorcery. Fewer still could ever understand it, sorcery, magic, whatever one chose to call it defied logic, defied reason. Thus making it difficult, if not impossible to explain. Samantha had tried initially, but soon she accepted defeat in the matter.
Perhaps if the red haired girl tried harder to explain magic to those in the Legion then maybe, just maybe there would not be restrictions on her sorcery. The sorcery, which Sam was all but forbidden to practice, except in controlled situations. Like training.

"I can show you my powers and what I can do." She smiled at him, taking a step closer towards him.

Niko looks at how eager the girl to show him what she can do. She smiles and it feels as if he himself melts. She looked adorable and so pretty like this. Niko then returned the smile as he he responded, "Ok, But at another time. Right now you look like you can barely support yourself and stand upright. "

She was pleased that he wanted to see her unleash some of her sorceress might. "Oh I am sure that you would catch me if I were to stumble or otherwise fall." For a heartbeat she had not realised what she had said. Samantha eyes widened briefly a look of horror and surprise, her cheeks flushed with embaressment, rapidly turning a bright red.
