| Hey, all. I'll cut short to the chase on this one because I have work soon. Essentially, last night some debate went back and forth between our admins, Belle and Mason. Basically, from the founding of the site, admins have been allowed to take from the shop at their will, no questions asked. This was never documented on the site anywhere, but was practiced. The admins asked me to take down their statements and post him here for a poll. To keep it short and sweet, the question of the poll is "Should admins be able to take prizes from the shop?" Just to give clarity, this rule suggests that admins wouldn't have to use coins to access privileges other members would needs coins for. The story is lengthy, involving some heated discussion and an original poll being removed. I won't bore you guys with the details, but it's best we square this away soon with a decision. While I have my own feelings and opinions, we have two statements from our admins, so I'll let you guys be the judge on this one. Have a good day/night! Without further ado: - Belle's Testimony:

Listen guys, I'm going to try and keep this short. How many of you would say you know all the rules? All of you, right? Because you have read the site rules. What if I told you wrong? There is a rule that's not in there. The rule that Admins can get free slots. Now initially the way this was worded to me and brought up to me was when I asked Mason for a mystery box. He said "You could only really get coins from it." I was confused. I asked him about it, until I came to the conclusion apparently just because I help manage the site I get stuff for free?
Those aren't the rules I play by. I play by the rules of being fair. Now my opponent might say that "oh this is just site to have fun and be creative." I agree, and I have been trying to do that with listening to what you guys want. I came in when the site was at a critical low when it was abandoned by the admin, and I took leadership role. I tried to get morale up, I tried to get activity. I have tried nothing but my hardest for you guys and to be a voice for the people. You guys are what matter to me.
So in short. Having this rule in place that I can just get free things, I don't want it. I don't want to put myself on a higher playing level than the rest of you. At the end of the day I am here for you. I am here to have fun and to create. I wanted to make this poll, I tried to earlier, and it was moved and deleted on me. If that doesn't speak for itself on what the other party feels, than I don't know what will.
If it does no harm to the site with admins having free stuff/free slots, why not have everyone get that?

Hey, guys, Mason here.
So, I know as soon as you see Belle's probably long and reasonable point, you're going to think 'oh my god, the admins are corrupt!' or 'I'm being cheated as a member!' But, I want you to take the time, even if you disagree, to read this.
The admins getting free stuff rule was established on the first day of the site by me and Green. It is a rule used on many different sites, including our 'parent' site, CHB. It was never intended to be unfair or for harm to members, and no one up to this point has complained about it. If it's not broken, don't fix it. I'm going to elaborate, though, and really going to just say it exactly how I see it.
Is it hurting anyone? No. Is it unfair? No, I willing use my coins to spend on other members. I know as a member it's going to seem that your rights are being violated, but hear me out: this is a move of white-knighting, an RLR Liberalism, if you want. Belle's point is meant to make you go in her favor, meant to make it seem like I'm just playing a dirty game.
Green and I spent roughly 5 hours planning out the groundwork of this site. It was a rule we agreed on. I have done everything in my non-absent days on RLR to ensure the best site experience. I have spent hours doing mystery box related stuff, worrying about getting new members, etc.
Me or Green in the past have neither abused this rule. It's a benefit, just like a benefit in an everyday job.
In the end, it's called having fun, which is RPing.
RPing isn't being a 'leader in power,' or power limits, or 3 flaws, or any of that. It's fun. We are a bunch of people sitting on our computers making up characters with our imagination, having fun and RPing. Site politics doesn't matter, being an admin doesn't matter, any of that.
Why are we being uptight about a rule that's been in ground, untouched, allowed for 5 months? Why are we white knighting and politicking and acting like this is some type of democracy, some type of government? If I wanted to be unfair with you guys, I wouldn't spend so much time making this site, with the vision of a creative, free-spirited writing environment.
I realize I'll probably lose. Actually, I know I'll lose. Just know this was never meant to be kept secret from you guys, it's always been here, it's why I have a lot of characters. I know that my point probably sucks and I'll be demolished in the polls, but just think about it.
It isn't hurting anyone. It isn't being abused. It's not causing me to be unfair to the people of the site.
Why the politics, man/woman lol? Why the stress over fake authority on a forumotion site? Why are we fighting about admins getting unlimited 'slots' to make characters, a limit put on ourselves?
It's RPing, man. I want a fun environment. You can't be so uptight about this things.
If you made this far, even if you're not voting my way, I really appreciate it. I probably sound 20x less intelligent then Belle did in her point. Thanks. I just want it to be known if I do lose, it's not that big of a deal, but it's a not a big deal in the first place.
One thing always leads to another. This is the limits now, how far into the future before the site becomes the little breathing room no creativity environment us admins don't want? I may be exaggerating, but I think this is just overreacting to something so small in life.
Once again, thanks for at least reading. Even if you vote for Belle, realize I don't think her point is necessarily wrong, but I think it's something unneeded. Why throw a wrench in the well-oiled machine?
