The sunlight beamed down from the clear blue heavens above Camp Jupiter, the air was warm and welcoming, the kind of weather that many would take advantage of to relax in the sun. A small demigod knelt down in the cool grass near the Aqueduct, Valerie possessed no idea as to what made her walk here apart from a desire to be alone, to be alone with her thoughts and mourn the loss of so many of her friends.
It was not easy having to adjust to such a massively different world, Valerie had for all intents and purposes been ripped from her time and flung into the future. This world was different but the Legion was still the Legion, just with different faces who replaced the familiar old ones. The few Legionnaires from her time who still lived were old, far older than Valerie now. As of yet she lacked the courage to go speak to them, she did not know who might be shocked more, herself or her friends.
She did not know when she started to cry, the tears fell silently to the floor, running down the child of Apollo's pale cheeks. It was not like she could even go home, for now Valerie's own mother would surely be dead. She missed her old life, her friends... She was so confused with all of the new things that Valerie encountered. The advanced technology at least to her eyes happened to be something pulled from a science fiction movie, though according to the Legionnaires they said using it was like a signal flare to the monsters in the vivacity.
She did not want to leave Camp Jupiter for the moment, the outside world was crazy, completely different to the one that made sense to her.
Valerie wiped her eyes on the back of her hands, getting rid of the tears and let out a heavy sigh. "I miss them..." She whispered to herself.
