| Ginny took up the rear as they made their escape to the rooftop. Apollo trotted at her heels, eager to not get left behind. Everytime they reached floor, Ginny would stop and check the window, to see if there was anyone suspicious waiting. But they made it up to the top floor eventually, without issue. Now all that was left was the roof.
Ginny stayed behind as Simcha went, pulling her sword out and keeping it at the ready. She kept her eyes on the stairs leading downwards, standing stoically listening for the slightest noise that could indicate someone coming. On the bright side, even the quietest of noises could be heard echoing in this kind of stairwell. Unfortunately, anyone would be able to hear them.

| | Simcha Yoshida is onlineListening to: For Whom the Belly Tolls "may the way that i go be regrettable, gruesome" |
"i can explain it to you later," simcha says to hayden. "if we're able to talk while riding i can tell you about them then, or if not i can once we get you to camp."
she takes a final deep breath to steel herself before pushing open the door to the roof as she pulls out her twin hand axes from where they're strapped to her waist. she would have preferred her battle axe, but there was no convenient way to bring that into the lotus hotel. her hand axes would have to do.
the roof is quiet, and simcha is immediately on edge. this has to be an ambush. the hunters are ready to jump on her at any second.
she makes her way carefully across the roof without a single problem, and it's only when she's about to head back to get hayden and ginny that she realizes why she was so on edge at the silence.
"shit," she mutters to herself, sprinting over to the door and yanking it open. "they took the pegasi," she says. "they're gone."

| Hayden had since taken out his bow, and notched an arrow. Just cause he was the one being rescued, didn't mean he couldn't fight whatever could possibly ambush them. He stood a bit behind Ginny and her dog, and was leaning against the wall out of sight, but also perfect position to shoot anything that came at them through the door. "You sure it was huntresses though? They aren't usually the type to ambush in this way..." Hayden asked them, as Simcha came back. "I mean they could do it this way, they may have changed over the years. But I've only known them to always be more of a 'stalk and hunt down your prey' type. Usually they'd come from behind, or be waiting for us in the open, for us to get here..." | |

| Ginny's heart raced faster once she found out the pegasi were gone. That was their ride home. They were literally across the country. Plus they had a wanted man. Well, boy. It wasn't really the time to figure out semantics. They needed to completely redo their entire plan.
Ginny felt herself getting anxious. She wished she had stolen that pad of paper from the hotel room. She could really make some origami cranes right now. But she just breathed in, and breathed out. She could do this.
"Whoever it was, they'll probably be more than happy to get their hands on you. We need to figure out a way to get out of the city safely, and fast." Ginny turned to Hayden, "Did anyone at the casino ever hand you a plastic rectangle? Kind of like really hard paper? If we have a credit card we could buy a plane ticket out of here. We shouldn't risk driving cross country."

simcha curses under her breath. gods, how could she be so careless? her first shot at an important mission that actually matters, and she doesn't bother bringing an extra camper to watch the pegasi and make sure no one stole them. and not only that, but she was too focused on getting hayden she didn't even bother to stop to get one of the casino's credit cards.
she takes a deep breath, trying to calm down. "if you don't have one that's fine," she says. "we can iris message back to camp. maybe rachel would be able to call in to get us on a flight back to new york." it would be optimal if hayden didn't have to immediately get put on an airplane, but it'd also be optimal for him to be alive.
she notices that ginny's getting anxious and instinctively pulls out the small notebook she had with her, silently handing it over to ginny to fold paper cranes with. they need to remain level headed.

| "Is this it?" Hayden asked, handing her a small rectangle card. The hotel had given him it a few days ago. Maybe it had actually been years, but that didn't matter. "What's an airplane?" He added, confused, and curious. | |

| Ginny took the notebook, thankful that Simcha had brought some paper with her. She could do this. They could complete this mission and get Hayden to camp.
Ginny breathed a sigh of relief when Hayden handed over the credit card. "Yeah, that's it." She said. This was their ticket out of here. However, she did realize that Hayden was going to get a bit of a culture shock if he climbed on an airplane. The last thing they need is to explain to a flight attendant on why their friend is freaking out. They can't just exactly say, "Oh he's not from this century, all of this is very new to him."
Ginny hesitated, "Maybe we should take a train instead?"

"oh, thank the gods," simcha says in relief, pausing to take a deep breath and steady herself.
"how long would it take by train?" she asks. "it'd probably be the best option, but plane would be so much quicker." gods, of course this wouldn't be easy. couldn't they ever catch a break?

| Hayden watched the two girls talk about what to do next, "Look if this plane thing is the fastest or easiest way, I think I can manage not to freak out to much." He told them, after a bit. Did he want to know what a plane was? Of course, but he could wait. Would he be internally freaking out the entire time? Probably, but he can hide that... But the way he saw, the world had changed a ton over the past century. He'd have to get used to his "new" world, eventually, best not sugar coat it. | |

simcha pauses in her nervous pacing, turning on her heel to look at hayden. "are you sure?" she asks. "because, like. when i say this is something you've never seen, i mean absolutely never seen. we'll literally be flying." of course hayden would probably have to end up integrating into society in some way; this was expected. he couldn't avoid technology forever, even if he never left camp. but thrusting someone onto an airplane immediately after they'd been removed from the lotus hotel where they'd lived for about two hundred years was not a good way to start.

| "Flying?" He asked, ok, maybe he wasn't so sure about it. Hayden took a deep breath, "Look, thinking reasonably, if the huntresses are nearby... then I don't really think my comfort should be a factor in anything we choose to do..." He said, "Like I said before, its gonna happen eventually, might as well happen now...." | |

| Ginny was already in the middle of folding a paper crane, while simultaneously looking at the others. "Wait if we're flying we'll need identification. I highly doubt he has any sort of modern day drivers license. Unless...." Ginny trailed off. She had been practicing her skills with the mist, but she wasn't good yet. She could maybe trick some TSA agent into thinking that the piece of paper they hand them is a totally valid id. Or they'll be arrested and be sitting ducks for any huntress or monster that wants a go at them. Ginny finished off of one paper crane and tucked it in her bag, pulling out another sheet of paper and starting the process over again.
"I might be able to make it happen. We just have to be ready to run if it doesn't work."
