My heart is pained, tormented as I write these words but I fear given the nature of the current predicament in which the site faces I must. I come online and rp to escape the drama of the world, the politics, the disagreements. Yes, such things are yet still found online.
But. Are we not all friends? We all have our reasons for wanting to rp, we all clearly enjoy it. However, we stand on the verge of disaster. Members are being driven away or feel uncomfortable, or worse ignored, isolated and otherwise left out.
We turn on ourselves, lash out and divided ourselves, voting on things that depending on your point of view should be or should never of been voted on.
A house divided cannot stand nor last against any great storm. I shall not take a side, nor will I vote, I shall not cast my stone to be counted, my saber shall not be drawn, my colours not raised as I declare for one side or another.
Instead I declare myself to be neutral in this debate, this conflict which embroils the site hidden like a canker beneath a layer of normality. I will not vote, but I will listen and mediate to both sides. I will not judge nor will I condemn. Regardless of the outcome, whatever it may be I will still be friends with both parties, I will still rp. This site means a great deal to me and I will not sit idle whilst it tears itself apart.
Perhaps we should remember why this site came into being. It was to be an rp based on freedom and rper choice. A place of fun, of acceptance, of liberty. This is a challenge, a battle, testing whether this rp site or indeed any rp site founded on such, so conceived and dedicated can endure not only time, but prevent it's death in the throes of a inter site civil war.
The world as a whole will make little note and besides ourselves few will care or remember what we say or do here. But in a larger sense, a greater sense this is for us, this is a home, a second home, our place to escape from the world and have fun.
