| So, a member of our site, Frankie, before this site was created, asked if she could have a son of Artemis. I declined. My fellow admin, Green, said it was up to me. Through out the last month on the site, she's sent me forms, suggestions, etc. I've denied them all. Then, she won a major god kid slot in a mystery box. After some considering, I accepted. This was intended as a canon character, and to branch off into a site plot, an optional site plot, in which the Hunters try to hunt and kill him. The reward for participating would be 1000 coins. Some members disagree with this, so I've decided to put it to vote. The current story is Orion and Artemis had him. He's already been approved https://relatedlegendsreborn.forumotion.com/t251-haydenPlease vote. Thank you for your time. | |

| So, I'm curious, for those who see this- it appears the "yes, but with a change of story" option may win. If you voted this option, please PM me suggestions about how the story changes, because if this option ends up winning, it's probably going to turn into it's own poll. | |

| I played a tabletop game a long time ago where my GM played a twist on the game. I won't go into boring details, but, essentially, the gods chose (mostly) human champions to serve them in one giant task against a different force.
My character, a male, was Artemis's scion. The few godly visits in game consisted of deep negative disposition, as she still hated males. By the end of the game, it had turned out that my character had a special link to Orion, and that he was the best chance for her to use to gain a spot in the endgame.
If it was something like this, I would be more than okay with it. However, Artemis is two things, explicitly; a virgin goddess and carries animosity towards all males to some degree. Those are the two things I would like to keep in tact.

| *Copying and pasting a PM I sent to admins and Frankie here just so the rest of you members have an idea about possibilities of this being canonically valid*
So. I have a couple suggestions for the details of Hayden's birth if that's still an open topic (since he's already approved and all).
1.) I don't think it should be a physical birth. That would completely be breaking Artemis's vow. Immortals, however, are notorious for finding loopholes in their vow or contract (kind of like Batman in Batman Begins: he doesn't kill people, but he doesn't have to save them--I mean, he's not a Greek god or anything, but I was just using that as an example). She can't have a physical birth, but she can have a child some other way.
2.) Well, if it's not going to be a physical birth, it also can't be a brain child. That's Athena-exclusive. I mean, Riordan isn't exactly the Greek gospel, but most RPers won't accept otherwise.
3.) A loyal Huntress could've volunteered to carry the child. Sure, it still would've had to have been Artemis and Orion who had the one-night stand or whatever, but since gods and goddesses have supernatural abilities (Hera did cause Hercules's birth to be late so he wouldn't inherit a kingdom or whatever), Artemis could've had the infant supernaturally transmitted to the Huntress's womb. I know this is kind of weird and sketchy, but mythology/religion has had examples of this before (ex.: Jesus and his mother Mary, which I actually believe to be true due to my religion) so people can't say this is totally impossible. It was also help to bring out Hayden's mortal aspect: if we're going by RR here, Orion is a giant, making Hayden an immortal. If a Huntress carried the child, however, he could be a demigod since the Huntress is a mortal woman. This way, Hayden's still the son of Artemis and Orion, but he's a demigod, and Artemis did not break the vow of her ever conceiving a child.
4.) A loyal Huntress with the blessing of Artemis committed the adulterous act in place of the goddess. This way, though Artemis was breaking the vow in spirit, her body would still remain pure. Hayden would technically have two mothers (but it's not that weird--look at freakin' Norse mythology), but he would inherit the mortal aspect from the Huntress and the supernatural aspects from Orion.
Of course, you guys might have to edit Hayden's bio again if you decide to do any of this. I'm just making suggestions. I personally voted for Hayden's existence, but I still wish for this to remain as loyal to canon as possible. I'm not really expecting you guys to use this stuff, but I just wanted to give you guys some option I thought of. This actually seems like a fascinating idea though I'm worried some people might get upset about this; just trying to help find the happy medium here.
*end*
That's what I sent to Mason, Green, and Frankie. If they actually do choose to use these modifications to an extent (they haven't sent me any confirmation at the moment) then it could possibly fit into canon. | |

| So, it seems like the answer is "Yes, with some changes to the story." Thank you for voting! Another poll will be put up soon that deals with how the story should be changed. | |
