Just chillin' like a not villian

Hayden wasn't really sure why he chose the lake to sit at, he didn't even know how to swim. Plus he didn't really like how much sun there was, and how there was almost no shade. Though, it was quiet and out of the eyes of the people who knew who he was so he was willing to compromise with nature this time around.

Spencer and Carter, after practice, stopped at the lake to get a nice, refreshing swim. Carter took his armor off and went to change. While waiting, Spencer sat by the lake, near Hayden. He looked over, and felt like he knew him from somewhere. "Wait, aren't you the Artemis kid the Hunters are going crazy to kill? Sorry, you've probably be asked that question a million times. I'm Spencer Virgo, son of Venus and legacy of Volturnus," he said, putting out his hand to shake.

"Uhh... it's fine. Yeah, I'm Hayden the Artemis kid." Hayden said, shaking Spencer's hand. "Give me a ten second head start, if you're one of the few who want to kill me?" He asked, smiling. He was mostly joking, but that had happened a few times already, some campers and New Rome inhabitants didn't like him anymore than the hunters did. Which was a feeling he was beginning to get used to.

"Nah, I don't buy into that killing crap, especially in your case. It's not your fault Artemis f*cked up and needs a solution, quickly. You don't seem like the type that would destroy Olympus," he said with a smile. "So, what exactly is your story? Once again, sorry, you've probably been asked that a lot of times by now." Spencer studied the guy. He didn't look like he was any different than other demigods, despite you know, having an eternal virgin as a mother.

"Well thanks, cause I don't even think I'd know how to destroy Olympus either." Hayden said, laughing. "Nah, I don't mind. My birth mom isn't actually Artemis, she was a huntress who got kicked out, but for some reason Artemis wanted to claim me as her own. And well the rest is pretty obvious. She didn't want a boy." Hayden explained, giving the bare minimum amount, "But I think most of the killing me off thing has to do with me supposedly being capable of destroying everything." He quickly added. Sometimes he didn't like admitting that his mom wanted him dead.

Spencer listened to his story, nodding along. "That's tough. Sounds like you're in the need of some family. Which is perfect, because you ran into the Virgos. My cousin, Carter, who's changing right now, he's the First Cohort Centurion, and my other cousin is the 2nd Cohort Centurion, and then there's also their brother. My aunt was almost praetor. My dad is a famous movie actor. My sister is like the popular girl, the big dog, and my little brother...well, he's not anything special, but the point is we have family for days, okay?" Spencer said with a laugh. "If you want, you could join me and Carter for a swim, then-"

Carter came back down to them. "Your turn, Spenc."

Spencer snapped his fingers, and suddenly was in swimming trunks and sunglasses. "Venus kid powers."

Carter rolled his eyes and looked at Hayden. "Wait a minute, you're the-"

"Carter, shh. He knows, you know, I know. Let's just accept it."

"Sure. If you don't mind." Hayden said, glancing up as another person joined them. He assumed it was the older cousin Spencer had just been talking about. The one who was a centurion or something. He listened to the conversation, then frowned narrowing his eyes a bit. " I don't have too stay, it's cool. Don't know how to swim anyway." He mumbled and stood up, aiming to leave the two cousins alone.

"No, dude, stay, it's cool. None of this is your fault, you know?" Spencer said. He looked at the water. "Do you have swimwear on you, or do you need some assistance, Venus style?" Spencer asked.,

Carter watched the two of them.

"Oh, uh, Hayden, this is my cousin, Carter. Carter, this is Hayden."

Carter put out his hand to shake. "Carter Virgo, First Cohort Centurion."

"No, don't have swimwear." He told him, as he reached his hand out to shake Carter's. "Hayden... yeah don't know what that is, sorry. Sounds important though..." He said, laughing a bit awkwardly. He had never been good at talking to people, especially people he couldn't read. He wondered if all the rest of the Virgo's were brick walls of no readable emotion, or if that trait was strictly Carter.
