shopping and talking to grandma (private)

Walter went up to the Virgo house, looking at the address on the piece of paper Sophia had given him. Walter was wearing a sleeveless white t-shirt and shorts and shoes, with his hair slicked back. The Legion had helped him with his troubles, money-wise (due to him being poor and 70 years ahead of himself), so he could buy this stuff. He looked a lot nicer than he had a few nights ago, when he was broken out of the casino. Walter rung the doorbell of the house.

Sophia was in her room, reading a book with her headphones in. She had heard the doorbell, but she was comfortable so she was hoping her mom would get it instead.

"SOPHIA GET THE DOOR PLEASE?! I'M BUSY!" Her mom yelled, from the kitchen. Sophia tugged a earbud out of her ear sighing dramatically, cause they weren't closer to the door or anything, right? She could hear her mom and grandmothers voices coming from the kitchen as she ran down the steps.

"Hello?" She said, after she opened the door. "Oh hey." She said, seeing who it was.

Walter heard yelling in the house, and then a minute or two later, Sophia answered. Walter grinned. "Hey. So, I was wondering, would you want to go do something right now? Like, you know, whatever food is popular with 2017 demigods," he said and laughed.

Sophia thought for a moment, "Yeah... I'm free today." She said.

"Sophia! Who's at the door?!" Mrs. Virgo yelled as she walked out into the hallway. "Well don't make whoever it is stand outside! Invite 'em in!"

Sophia sighed, "I'm so sorry." She mouthed, and pushed the door open all the way so he could come in.

Walter nodded when she said he was free, and went in the house. "It's fi- woah. This place is rad." Walter looked at Mrs. Virgo. "You must have one fat wallet, Mrs." He looked around. "Are you rich or something?" Walter asked, looking at Sophia.

"Uhhh yeah... a little." Sophia told him, awkwardly. She glanced between her mom, who did not look happy, and Walter, who didn't seem to notice that she wasn't in a good mood.

"So, Sophia, are you going to introduce me to your friend? I don't think I've ever met this one." Mrs. Virgo asked.

"Uhh... Yeah... This is Walter, one of the demi-gods I broke out of the casino the other night. I told ya about that right?" Sophia said, awkwardly.

"No, I don't believe you did."

"Really? You sure?" Sophia said, "I feel like I did."

"Well if you say so, honey." Mrs. Virgo said, "Before you leave, you better go visit with your grandmother for a while, ok?" Sophia nodded her head that she would, and watched as her mom walked back into the kitchen.

OOC: I think I may have channeled my own mother for that one....

Walter looked back and forth between Mrs. Virgo and Sophia. "This is all so...weird. Both you and your mother look exactly like Agnes. I miss Agnes so much...I'd give so much to see her again. Unfortunately, she may not still be living. She's be like 86ish now, and I don't know the 2017 life expectancy, but that seems unlikely to me. Are you sure you don't know of an Agnes you're related to? Are you sure it's not your grandmother? Damn, that'd be weird," Walter said.

"No.... Agnes isn't my grandma's name. Besides she's only in her late 60s." She told him, "Come on, she's in the kitchen, you could ask her yourself." Sophia led the way into the kitchen, where her grandmother was sitting at the table eating chocolate cake, and drinking a cup of coffee. "Hey grandma!" She said, kind of happily.

Walter nodded. He looked at her grandmother and smiled. This is was all so weird for him, they all reminded him somewhat of Agnes, especially Sophia. Was he just crazy and missed her? No, they looked like her. "Uh, hey. I'm Walter, friend of Sophia's."

Mrs. Virgo (grandmother) looked at Walter and smiled. "Hello, dear, nice to meet you. I'm Sophia's grandmother."

"Uhm, nice to meet you too. Do you...do you know Agnes?" Walter said, kind of abruptly.

Mrs. Virgo looked at him, surprised and confused. She spoke after a few seconds of silence. "Agnes is my mother. Was my mother, actually. She passed away a few years ago. Why, if you don't mind me asking, sweetie?"

"I...I was in the Lotus Casino, since 1945. I used to date Agnes, before I got trapped in there. Was she alright? Who did she marry?" Walter asked.

"Really?" Mrs. Virgo's eyes opened wide. "She was perfectly fine. I loved my mother. She ended up marrying a man named John Virgo, who is my father...that's where the Virgo name came from."

"You said is my father. Is Mr. Virgo still alive? If so, can I speak to him?"

"Well, yes, he is still alive, but he's very ill."

Sophia looked between the two as they talked, this was kind of awkward, but she listened to the conversation, since she never really knew her great-grandfather, even though he was still alive.

"That's too bad," Walter sighed. "I wish I could talk to him. I just wanted to...nevermind. Maybe it's for the best, it would've been an awkward conversation. Anyway, nice to meet you, Mrs. Virgo. Sophia, did you want to go get something to eat?"

"Ooooh, are you two going on a date?" Mrs. Virgo (grandmother) teased. "I'd be careful, young man, that Sophia is quite the grouch."

"Grandma I am not a grouch! And its not a date!" Sophia said, cringing at the thought of going on a date with anyone.

"See what I mean," Mrs. Virgo said to Walter, and they both laughed.

"Whatever it is, let's just go. I'm starving," Walter said. He started heading toward the door.

Walter left the house and looked around. "Where do they sell good food, sweetcheeks?" he said, joking with Sophia.

Sophia rolled her eyes, at them before hugging her grandmother goodbye and following Walter back outside. "There's a small diner nearby, or there's a pretty good pizza place. Both are about equally good, so you can pick." She said.

"Let's go to the diner. It sounds fancy," he joked. "Lead the way, hot stuff," he said, grinning. Walter was just joking with her, but did actually find her attractive.

She rolled her eyes at him and walked ahead of him, so he couldn't see that she was smiling.

Walter followed her. "So, this New Rome place is pretty rad, if I haven't said that already...it's so sweet that you get to live here, especially as a Virgo. I can't tell you how many times I've heard that name in just a few days here. Although, I've heard a few different things, like traitor, and best Roman family...and Greek Hephaestus girl...I don't translate well," he laughed. "You're like a Hollywood babe, with a famous actress as a mother."

"Uhh yeah... my mom is a pretty powerful demi-god, so..." She said awkwardly, "Here we are!" She said, spotting the diner hoping to get him off the topic of her family. She really didn't want to talk about the traitor, greek girl thing.

Walter nodded. He could tell she was uncomfortable with the situation, so he decided to not ask about her family again. He went into the diner, looking around. It was still fairly nice on the inside, but it wasn't fancy, like he expected. It looked like a place his friends and him would hang out in, back in the 40s. He sat in one of the booths, and continued looking around. "You know, Sophia, your life is pretty amazing. I mean, cool family, rad house, awesome living environments, your a demigod, and you're pretty damn hot."

"Thanks." She said, sitting down across from him. "How are you liking the 21st century so far?" She asked, she felt awkward talking about how awesome her life was.

"It's cool. I still have to get used to it. This one guy was playing music through his phone the other day, and I was so freaked out. It's amazing what those little things can do!"

"Yeah, they're actually pretty new though." Sophia said, as a waiter came over to their table to take their order. She told him what she wanted.

Walter ordered as well. "Like, how new are we talking?"

"2007ish. I think. I was like four years old...."

Ooc I keep forgetting, that I'm older than Sophia... and that a 14year old probably got their first phone at a younger age then I did.

"Oh, that's really new. So, sweetheart, do you have any other family but your siblings, mother, grandmother, or great-grandfather?"

ooc: This is where you can mention Spencer and Shiloh and Charlie (Spencer/Shiloh are twins, Spencer's a guy, Shiloh's a girl, and Charlie's the 14 year old little brother. Also, their dad is a movie star, Spencer and Shiloh are preppy, and they're children of Venus)
