Running From Two Dangers

"Grace!" Zosime shrieked as she watched her beloved wolf collapse with a cry of agony. For a moment, it felt like everything went in slow motion. She had been so concentrated on Hayden and Grace that she hadn't even noticed that the other boy was still around until both Hayden and the wolf fell simultaneously. The huntress forgot about Hayden, and the other demigod, and Artemis, and her duty to the Hunt....

The bow fell to the earth from her numbed fingers. Her chest seemed to have constricted, threatening to choke the life out of her. Her eyes burned as she ran forwards, ignoring the demigods and whatever trick they might be planning. She had only one concern: Grace.

Zosime practically slid down on her knees to her wolf's side, immediately placing her hands on Grace's side in order to find the wound. There. There was a burn mark the size of Zosime's thumbnail on Grace's chest, which was moving up and down frantically from shallow breaths. Zosime felt her teeth sink into her lip before she could stop herself. It was too late. Grace was dying.

She looked up from the form of her wolf companion to the fallen form of Hayden. He, too, had been hit by whatever Liam had shot at them. Her dark eyes burned with hatred--but not towards Hayden. She could not blame Hayden for this. No, it was that other boy who killed her friend. Zosime dropped her gaze back to Grace as the wolf let out a pitiful moan. Her hands began rubbing behind Grace's ears.

It has been an honor serving with you, my friend, Zosime thought as she watched the wolf's eyes dim.

Fair hunting, sounded Grace's voice in the Hunter's head for the last time.

Hayden quickly realized that the wolf had also been hit, he also realized that Liam had to have done it, probably not to purposely hurt him, but nonetheless less it left him in an almost impossible position. He continued to press his hand against the wound, and attempted not to make any noises that may suggest how badly injured he was. 

He watched as the huntress mourned her dead wolf, and while technically he could be using this moment to run away, he could not seem get his legs to move. Instead he stopped holding himself in the kneeling position he was currently in, and let himself fall to the forest floor onto his side. Maybe he could fake dead? He wondered, dizzily as he passed out from blood loss. Yeah... He doubted it would work, but not like he had much of a choice.

The ambrosia might have fixed his finger, but it did nothing against the splitting headache that blossomed inside his skull. He gasped and stooped over grasping his hair tightly. He stayed like this for a few seconds before he was able to at least move some. He stood, slowly, and winced like every movement was the equivalent of getting stabbed. He moved so he could see what he had done. His eyes grew wide as he slumped against the tree he had hidden behind. He heart much harder than it had his entire life. Seeing the Hayden lying in a pool of his own blood and the huntress grieving over her dying wolf. He caused this, he felt horrible, not only he might have killed the person he was helping out, he caused a person great emotional pain. He knew there was something he could do to fix it, but he didn't know what. He grabbed a flask of nectar, he was sure Hayden couldn't eat. He made his way as fast as his headache would allow over to Hayden and propped him against his leg.
The Son of Bia poured half of the flask down Hayden's throat, until the wound closed. Tears threatened to spill from his eyes, his was shaking and very pale. Then he grabbed energy from almost every source available to him. The trees leaves drooped and darkened, the very air quickly lost much of its heat. Even the blood on the ground around Hayden suddenly dried up and clotted. Liam quickly moved to the wolf, if he could fix he would, or perhaps die trying. He made a shield around him self, except for his hand. He carefully placed his hand on the wolfs head, careful not to disturbed the huntress, though he was sure he did. He closed his eyes and his brow creased in concentration. He pushed the energy through the wolfs skull, into it's brain. Using the nerves as pathways he spread the energy through out the wolf, trying to get the cells and organs it touched to work again.
Liam couldn't live with himself if he killed a animal, or a person. He would most likely end his life later on if he didn't give it all that he had to fix it. Some tears made there way out of his closed eyes, and landed on his hand, only to freeze their energy stolen from them. Liam didn't care if the huntress was trying to do to him right now, only as long as he tried to bring the wolf back from the brink.

OOC: Yeah, he wouldn't live with him self, or rather couldn't. Too much emotional stress for him. Plus he would feel terrible about it so yeah.

Hayden hadn't completely passed out yet, his entire body felt numb from the blood loss and he could barely get himself to open his eyes. He also wasn't expecting nectar to be poured down his throat, and it took until he almost choked on it to realize it was there, going down his throat. His body felt extra warm as the healing started taking effect, though he also felt cold, like the temperature was dropping around him. Maybe Liam came back? He doubted that the huntress would pour nectar down his throat...

After what seemed like a few hours he managed to force himself to open his eyes, and sit up. He gasped in pain, while the outside seemed healed it still felt like someone had botched the surgery to repair the internal damage. He gripped his side in pain, waiting for it to pass, then looked around. He spotted Liam attempting to heal the wolf. Was this kid crazy? Or maybe it was a trick, maybe he was really on the huntress's side and that's why the girl hadn't killed him yet? No... not possible, he wouldn't have healed him if he had been on her side... Plus Liam was male. He struggled to stand up, and grabbed the side of a tree trunk to keep himself upright as more pain ripped through his stomach. "Liam? What the hell are you trying to do?!" He asked, his voice filled with panic and pain.

ooc LOL stop healing Hayden so much, I need him half dead. XP

OOC: Liam is a cinnamon roll that could kill you and would kill you but he would feel too guilty to do it

Zosime's dark eyes glared at the strange boy as he placed his hand on Grace's head. Almost instinctively, she reached for her hunting knife, intent on slitting this boy's throat. But then, she heard the faint sounds of humming reach her ears. He was trying to rejuvenate Grace!

The Hunter, puzzled, watched in strange fascination as Liam's brows met in concentration. For a moment, she even forgot that Hayden was probably also healed and could easily finish her off. She was confused. Why was he trying to help her? She had been aiming to kill him simply because he helped Hayden!

Hayden bit his lip, figuring what he was about to do wasn't his brightest idea. He stumbled his way over to Liam, letting good old gravity help him "fall" and "land" next to him. He noticed that the wolf was in fact coming back to life. "Liam, we gotta go." He told him, he glanced over at the huntress worried she'd do something. "Liam! Come on!" Hayden was too weak at this point to drag the kid away, hell he was probably to weak to stand up again. So he hoped talking the kid away would work instead.

"Shit!" His hand tensed as shooting pains shot like lightning through his arm. He could swear that he could smell burning human flesh, but hey you know, trying to save animal lives is important.
He glanced at the huntress, "Could you grab my flask over there? There's nectar in it, could you pour a drop of it into her mouth? I'll make sure nothing will go awry."
He reached a line in the wolf that felt different from the rest of it, he was sure that was from the energy bullet thing, but he'll fix it, or try his best too at least.

"Liam this isn't a game! This is our life! They'll kill you and me the moment you finish healing it!" Hayden told him, trying to get him to stop. Could he really blame Liam for trying, though? No, not really, had this been the 1700s still and Hayden wasn't being hunted down by the huntress's, he'd probably do the same. However this was a completely different century, and the two of them needed to go now, before they got killed. "Look, ok, the wolf will be fine, she's pretty much healed all the way up! Let's just go!" Hayden said, shaking Liam's shoulder to get his attention.

Zosime looked at the two boys with a blank expression. They seemed to be arguing....she wasn't feel quite all right yet, though. However, the Liam kid seemed to be frantically motioning towards his fallen flash and looking at her meaningfully. She assumed that he wanted her to get it for him.

Everything was backwards. Zosime had been hunting them--both of them shortly after Hayden and Liam teamed up. Why was this male trying to help Grace? Confused beyond comprehension, Zosime silently obeyed and reached for the flask, hardly hearing the words exchanged between the two boys. She heard the words "kill you and me" and "go" and looked up at the hated son of Artemis. She was still too much in shock to feel the normal revulsion towards Hayden. "Not today," she said, barely audible, as she stared at him meaningfully. She may be failing the Lady Artemis at the moment, but it went against everything to kill him after his companion had helped hers. Sure, Grace wouldn't be in this predicament had it not been for Liam in the first place, but she was too concerned for her wolf's life to bother thinking about this at the moment. "Not today," she repeated, more to herself than the two boys near her. And Zosime wasn't one to lie.

Hayden's hearing was exceptionally well. Had to do with Artemis being his mom, he was born to be a hunter, something like that, it's what his birth mother told him. He heard Zosime's voice, and he instantly stopped shaking Liam's shoulder to look at her. He was unsure of her words, but she repeated them. He just stared at her, not really sure if it was the truth or not. But huntresses weren't usually the type to lie, and this girl was the epithany of what a huntress was. So he bit into his lower lip, and slowly nodded his head, his eyes not leaving hers untill the realization that he was going to live, for now, sunk in. He almost let out a sigh of relief.

Liam took the flask from the still dazed looking huntress, and popped the little lid sealing the small opening. Liam did the best that he could the drip one drop of nectar from the flask into the wolf's mouth, the place when the magical energy bullet thing went through felt completely different from the rest of the wolf's body, probably because he roasted it's insides or probably something else. He wasn't completely sure why, but it did. When the small drop of nectar touched the wolf's tongue, Liam felt a introduction of a new kind of energy that he hasn't felt before, then he understood why this stuff was not to be given to a regular human or animal. The new energy felt and acted a bit differently from the energy that he was used to feeling. Instead of being kinda slow moving and and changing speed based on the type of tissue that it touched, it quickly flooded the wolf's body completely disregarding the already present energy that was already there. It pretty much shoved all the already present energy out of the way like a very rude and rushed pedestrian.
He felt the wolf quickly warming up and start to quiver under his hand. In response he dropped the still open flask, letting the golden colored liquid to spill out and placed the now free hand onto the wolf's chest. He tried to suck as much energy out of the wolf as possible so the possibility of the wolf spontaneously combusting into flames was minimal. The pain in his head ebbed away a little, though he was sure he was going to be out like a light when he finished this. Maybe, he didn't really try this before and this was a really bad thought out experiment to try now, but you know, you only live once!
