Name: Alexander Corvino, though he always just goes by Alex
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
fc// (if there's one):

Country of Origin: Alex was born in England, but has no actual home of record
Place of Birth (Olympus, city or town): London
Race: Italian
Skin color: White, tan
Hair color: Dusky-blonde
Eye color: Green
Height: 5'11
Weight: 180lbs
Body type: Alex is incredibly athletic. Being of average height, most of his weight is muscle, in spite of his slim physique. He is quick and nimble, able to burst into a full sprint with a few steps (mainly in attempt to avoid something skewering him)

God Parent: Apollo (Greek aspect)
Mortal Parent: Madeline Corvino (deceased, aged 35) - concert pianist and art director

Personality: Alexander is energetic, outgoing, and never able to sit around for too long. His survival instincts have been honed to a razor's edge over the years and being able to react quickly to changes has kept him alive. As a child he was always impulsive and rambunctious, getting in to trouble with his friends, often loving to pull pranks on people; his quick wit and open sense of humor are often the head of some sort of joke. He is honest, sometimes even considered honest to a fault, and considers his honor of utmost importance. To that end, he hates when people lie and finds it highly offensive. Having spent so many years on the run, mostly alone, Alex now relishes in the idea of having friends even though it is often difficult to be around so many people at once, and he is fiercely loyal to them. The change of pace and interaction is sometimes hard for him to cope with, but he strives to fit in. Alex loves music in all forms and has a strong affinity for animals, especially his wolf companion Zanna. A cunning warrior and practiced hunter, he prefers to outwit his enemies and let them destroy themselves rather than face them head on.

Talents: Expert archer, gifted singer and pianist, as well as a strategic and vicious combatant
Flaws (at least three): Alex has a distinct fear of snakes and being alone in the dark, and he gets anxiety when in large groups. He tends to feel weak anywhere underground, due to being severed from natural light. As well, Alex loses his powers and becomes very sick if he is present during a solar eclipse.

Weapon (Celestial bronze/Imperial gold): Bow and arrow, hunting knife

Abilities: Can communicate with wolves and his own wounds tend to heal faster than other people. He's only once been able to heal another with a hymn to his father. Due to a very limited sense of precognition, Alex sometimes gets instinctual inclinations or 'flashes' of things around him, usually no more than a gut feeling or very brief glimpse that lasts no more than a few seconds; this ability gives him an edge in combat or while hunting, letting him better predict enemy movements (under short range, usually no more than 15-20 feet around him) or avoid incoming attacks.

Powers: Photokinesis form 1- Usually can only alter the light directly around his body as a form of camouflage. This does not actually make him invisible, it is more of a distortion that makes him hard to notice, the light bending in such a way that causes the eye to pass over him. Less effective the faster he moves. Can be used 1 time every 2 posts.

Photokinesis form 2- Occasionally he can use a more concentrated blast of photokinesis, though the power has only manifested in the most dire of situations when he has been under imminent threat of death. Alex unleashes a sudden, intense burst of light energy that can sear retinas or even flesh. This drains him completely; he is left entirely unconscious and defenseless for 2 posts. Can only be used if severely injured and under intense fear of death, 1 time per thread

History: Alexander Corvino was born in England, though he never spent long in any one place. His mother Madeline was a concert pianist and art director, which kept the two of them busy traveling to other countries for most of his childhood though, oddly, never to her own country of Italy.

Madeline began teaching Alex to play piano at the young age of four, finding his proficiency quite advanced. Alex loved the instrument, and indeed any other he could get his hands on, and quickly excelled in the art. He would often play the piano and sing with his mother when they were alone.

Being that he traveled so much, Alex never had a chance to set down any roots, but because of this he learned to make friends quickly and was always excited to see new things, meet new people, and of course to hear his mother play in every city they visited. Alex was always a playful child; whenever he met knew friends, it was inevitable for them to get into trouble for playing a prank or getting into things they were not supposed to, usually at the behest of Alex’s own insatiable curiosity.

When Alex was seven, he and his mother moved to America; Madeline was accompanying an art exhibit in Seattle, Washington. They were on their way home when something hit their car, knocking them off the road and rolling the vehicle over several times before hitting a tree. Alex managed to free himself, but his mother was pinned the wheel. He tried to free her, but the creature that had attacked them came back, a monstrous snake with evil red eyes. Madeline saw the creature coming and ordered Alex to run and never look back. Terrified, he obeyed, and the sound of metal ripping followed him deep into the woods.

For days Alex wandered through the forest, hiding from monsters that seemed to always be able to find him. When he was close to death, dehydration taking its toll, a white raven that perched upon his knee found him and beckoned him to follow. Alex did, and was taken to a small hut where a man in a hood was waiting. Alex never saw the man’s face, but was instantly comforted, and he stayed with him for several years. He knew him only as the Hunter.

The Hunter showed Alex the ways of the wild, teaching him to use a bow as Madeline had taught him to play the piano. No monsters bothered him again while he was with the Hunter. When Alex was 11, he was to go into the woods and catch dinner. Terrified that the monsters would catch him without the Hunter being with him, the mysterious man gifted Alex a bracelet of braided black leather and told him that it would guide him to bravery, no matter the odds. Feeling a sense of dread, Alex took the bracelet and went out to hunt, not knowing it would be the last time he’d see the Hunter.

While out hunting, just as he feared, Alex was attacked by monsters. He tried to fend them off with his bow but the arrows had no effect on them. One of the creatures hit him, knocking Alex to the ground. Just when it was about to sink its teeth into him, a massive wolf leapt from the shadows to kill the monster. One of the others with it fled in fear, and Alex scurried away as well.

The third monster hit the wolf aside, raking massive claws into its side, then turned to move on Alex. Acting in fear alone, he held up his bow. As he fired the arrow, it burst into a gleaming beam of light and sank into the monster, shattering it into a cloudy pile of gold dust. Alex made to run, but the whimpers of the wolf behind him made him come back to it, sympathy and tears in his eyes. He sang to it like Madeline used to sing to him, sitting with the wolf for what felt like hours, fearing it would die. He sang comforting melodies, gazing up at the sun through the trees, praying the wolf would be okay. As if by some miracle, the wounds seemed to stitch themselves together.

Alex returned to place where the hut had been but it was no longer there, nor any sign of it ever being more than a copse of trees.

RP Sample (required for first form):Alex slid through the trees like a shadow, breath even as he tried to listen carefully for signs of approaching monsters. They were out there, he knew, and close. No way he’d lost them this time, with as close as they’d been. Strange that any had managed to sneak up on him like that, for sure, but Zanna had been out on his own for a while, searching for food. Alex had taken the time to get some rest, but had not set up any traps in case Zanna came back and was caught unaware of where he’d placed them.

Stupid.

The acrid stench of unwashed flesh and mildew assaulted his nostrils, followed closely by a heavy huffing and the sound of a heavy club slamming into back. Alex dove behind a fallen tree and lay flat, breathing as slowly as possible.

“You see where he went?”

“Where who went?” The voices were gruff and clumsy, as if unaccustomed to stringing so many words together at once. Alex knew them as the Wheezy brothers, a group of overgrown and constantly out of breath boys with bad hygiene and even worse tempers. There were three of them in total, but where the third may be was anyone’s guess. Probably lost chasing his shadow around a tree.

“He’s here. Can smell him.”

Yeah, can smell you too, buddy.

“Me too. Smash?”

“Smash.”

With that, the Wheezys began sniffing wildly, blundering around in search of Alex. He knew he had to move, but he couldn’t just jump up in front of them. Feeling around with his right hand, he came across a rock beneath some leaves. He hurled it away from him, the small stone clinking off a tree trunk some distance away.

“He’s over there!” The Wheezys hooted in blood-thirsty joy and bolted in the direction of the thrown rock. Grinning, Alex rolled to his feet and ran the other way.

You moved. The grim voice echoed inside his mind, severe yet smooth like velvet. It was not a question or an accusation, merely an observance. Zanna was always direct and to the point. I’m coming. Have friend.

Alex could never remember ever having been able to talk to any sort of animal as a child, but then again monsters had never attacked him then, either. Not until the one that killed his mother. For whatever reason he could speak with Zanna, he did not question it. Ever since he had met the wolf and they had saved each others lives, Zanna had been by his side. Which was probably the only reason he was still alive, since the Hunter had abandoned him and left him on his own. That was five years ago.

You have other friends?

No.

Uh, okay? Wheezys are back. Saw two, third has to be close.

“Ah, found you!”

Found third. Very close.

Alex whipped around, his ivory bow coming into his hand on instinct. “Oh, hey there. Uh, don’t suppose you’d be willing to close your eyes and count to ten?”

“Oh no,” he bellowed, his crooked yellow teeth showing through his wide open mouth, “you won’t trick me with that again!”

“Fair enough.” Alex loosed, his arrow flying through the air with a whistle and embedding in the Wheezy’s shoulder, eliciting an angry howl of pain. Whatever sort of monster these guys were, they did not like to go down easy. Not that they ever seemed to go down. None of the monsters did, really. Alex could shoot them full of arrows all day, hurt them all he liked, they got back up good as new and kept coming.

The Wheezy brother, the eldest one judging by his taller stature and that familiar shirt with the Nike symbol and the word “sucks” written in marker beneath it for some reason, pulled the arrow free and took a step towards Alex. However, a step was as far as he made it before the bulky guy burst into a swirling cloud of gold dust.

Behind where the elder Wheezy had stood was Zanna, dark grey fur bristling and solemn eyes studying Alex for any sign of injury. Next to the wolf was a short man in jogging pants and bomber jacket, gruff beard outlining a snarky grin beneath bright green eyes. He held a heavy club studded with metal. For some reason, the man seemed to have horns growing from his head. Alex nocked an arrow quickly, thinking him another monster.

“Aye, this him?”

Zanna growled succinctly, moving to stand next to Alex and nudge his hand a bit. Friend. He’ll help.

“Good. We been looking fer ya fer a while, boy.”

“We who?” Alex demanded, lowering his bow at Zanna’s request. “What do you want?”

“Friends,” he answered simply. “Who want to help.”

Very impressive form.

I' allow 'The Hunter,' as long as it isn't Apollo himself. Also, sorry, but the bow would be counted as a gift from god parent, therefore not allowed for free.

I still see a part in his history where the bow is mentioned- pretty much the last paragraph, and part of the second-to-last.
