Friends On The Other Side

Lucanus, or Luca for short, is a fun and life loving teen who enjoys learning about the other realms seeing as he was only ever on Vanaheim and learned everything he could about Midguard from Thor and the other gods who would travel between worlds on the Bifrost. He has an uncanny habit of slinking off to deserted corners of the hotel and enjoys his alone time more than most people would, dead or alive. There’s a bit of solace to his solitude though, seeing as he has no voice and very few people know ASL (something he learned quickly after dying so as to make friends with the other demigods and Midguardians). The poor elf, bless his heart, has one of the worst strokes of luck as far as flaws goes. He’s both a mute and colorblind and even in death these attributes follow him around. He’s an agoraphobic and in turn the young lad tends to stick to his bedroom as well as the world tree when everyone else has gone to sleep. The All-Father understands his trouble with large crowds and in turn he has allowed for the elf to train in private with a few of  the Valkyries as well as the one who brought him to Valhalla.

From the time he was born the young Elf of Vanaheim, Lucanus Sem Apostolov, was a lover of everything he could learn about the other realms. Despite being a mute from birth and color blindness setting in fully by the age of 10 he had a love of the arts and knowledge in general. His teacher, who pretty much adopted him seeing as his mother died in childbirth, taught him all he could and helped him cope with his disability whenever he could. Seeing as several of the gods of Asgard would travel to and from Vanaheim Luca sought out their knowledge and Odin commented once to the man who was teaching Luca that the lad reminded him of himself as the worlds were still young. From then on Odin would share with him bits and pieces of his knowledge that he deemed to be useful and non-harmful to the young elf’s mind. He had lost so much but the child always found solace in his hobbies and visits from Odin. It was one clear night in the warmer season that his fate and life had tragically ended. Seeing as he was a demigod, something his teacher never hide from him, he had an affinity for plant communication and magic. A fire had broken out in the deepest part of the forest and Luca, as fast as his legs could carry him, rushed with his professor and the both of them used their elemental magic to help save the world. However, it was a stroke of unluck that one of the dead tree’s had a branch that was too weak to hold itself up and would have landed on the wise old professor, had Luca not pushed him out of the way. As he was holding on to the last bits of life he asked his professor to do one thing and one thing only; keep his trees safe and guard the forest for as long as he lived. Moved by his sacrifice and love of both knowledge and the realms Odin had sent a valkyrie who brought the lad to hotel Valhalla and from there he trains in private as well as with a few of the other fallen, one being Odin’s son and another bing Loki’s daughter, but keeps to himself for the most part.

Rowan has a natural affinity for all things dead and of body origin. She finds the undead, or up until recently the thought of the undead, to be quite interesting and often asks the ghosts around camp for information about the undead and dead. With a love of knowledge the girl spends much time alone and has a bit of an attitude towards other people, making her seem a bit of a brat or emo. The only company she really enjoys is that of Alucard as well as her ghost friends. It’s a bit of an annoyance to the other campers but she tends to keep herself far enough away that they don’t really notice her most days. Rowan is also a vegetarian by choice, take that as a flaw or personality trait but she just isn’t a fan of the taste of meat. She DOES however still eat fish from time to time. Her personality leaves her a bit distant from the other campers and apart from that Rowan finds human beings to be very boring and would prefer that of Demons or Ghosts. She’s also a bit of an Agoraphobe. Not to the point of freaking out in the dining hall but if at a large concert there is a bit of a panic in her tone as well as appearance.

From the time she was born her father Jamison dedicated his life to making sure his daughter was well off, cared for and loved. Despite all of these going mostly according to plan the red haired girl never really enjoyed her father’s company. He was formal, mortal and a businessman all of which bored Rowan. In doing so she began reading and testing spells and incantations to try and liven up her life, like most kids and young teens. During one such trial something actually happened for once. The spell and circled summoned a demon unlike that of any of the books she had read before. His name, Alucard, and from her summoning he was now bound till death to help protect and serve the young wiccan. With a curiosity spanning wider than the pacific she confronted her father about the summoning after a few other attempts at it to make sure she wasn't seeing anything. Sitting his now thirteen year old daughter down and explaining how he met her mother as well as her true nature things began unfolding and darker idas crept into the young girl’s head. See, Rowan was never liked in school, nor did she like it to begin with. She had known from a young age that she fancied both genders and, having gone to a private school, it was very uncommon to have an open bisexual or homosexual student. With the power found out, and after months of practicing, she began getting into trouble and coming very close to exposing magic. Her father, now fed up with the trouble she was getting into, decided it be best she have a safer environment to practice magic as well as whatever else she could come up with. Taking a trip to New York for a while and traveling to Long Ireland the Irish businessman drove to a camp that his wife had told him about in regards to others like Rowan. He dropped her off after explaining and Rowan entered without question, seeing as it gave off a different kind of aura. From there she went on to become the person she is today, or rather the wiccan.

At first glance she seems like an average teenage girl; preppy and passionate about the things she enjoys. But then the true colors begin to shine through. She’s absolutely mental and she loves the pain, no matter what kind. Despite what people may think she’s actually ungodly smart, thanks to her father, and in turn has a love of reading as well as learning anything she can about whatever she finds interesting at that given time. She’s also very obsessive over people, but it always changes and she gets bored of people easily. Con is a sociopathic, psychotic and masochistic ball of attractive and she often times flaunts it to get whatever or whoever she wants.
