Centurion training at its finest

Carter smiled at the compliment, then aimed at his feet, barely avoiding Liam's swipe.

Liam stepped back, easily avoiding his aim. He swung his sword at his face.

Carter got hit, and stumbled back. He could feel some blood on his cheek, like a gash. He held it with his left hand and then quickly spun around with his sword, aiming at Liam's upper body.

Liam brought his sword up to block it, and pushed him backwards. Then he aimed another swing of his sword at his legs.

Carter fell. He cursed under his breath.

ooc: Obligatory training montage capping off with two months later, when Carter finally beats him and takes over?

**Two months later**

Liam blocked Carter's sword from hitting his stomach, then aimed his own at the kids head. He was actually getting pretty good over the past two months, and Liam figured that it wouldn't be long until the kid got a lucky strike on him.

Carter quickly ducked, and then swiped at his feet quickly and did a backflip, dropping his sword, then picking it up again to aim at his neck.

Liam stepped out of the way of the of the swipe and brought his sword up to protect his neck. That was a close one, he almost had him that time. Liam took a step back, before aiming another strike at his head.

Carter barely ducked, and jabbed right at Liam's leg, before stepping back and swinging at his torso.

Ooc: I just thought about how cute it would be if 10yr old Sophia was following Carter almost every day to his training. And that's how she decided she wanted to be a centurion too. So yeah

Bic:
Sophia was hiding behind a rock. She was small enough to fit behind it perfectly, and be neither her brother or his trainer had yet to notice she was there. She had been following Carter to his centurion training for two weeks now. He didn't know cause he thought she was at their grandma's house, cause Emmett wasn't exactly the most trustworthy babysitter. Everytime her and Emmett got left alone the house usually ended up resembling a tornado trail. Anyway, she found the training fun to watch, and kind of wished she was old enough to be a centurion also.

Liam easily blocked the jab, before realizing that he wouldn't have enough time to pull his sword up and block his stomach, also. He attempted to step out of the way instead, but the sword cut through his shirt anyway and sliced a thin cut across his stomach, just enough to make him bleed. "Damn it!" He said, dropping his sword, and holding his hand up to stop the sparring.

Carter stopped, looking at Liam, kind of worried. Was this a mind trick or did he win? Or did Liam call it off? "Are you okay?" Carter asked, ready to attack if needed.

"Congrats." Liam said, "You're the new centurion. You'll shadow me for a week or so, that way you're all caught up on the business side of things." He stated, almost lazily, and like he was reciting a script. He was secretly impressed though, he wasn't going to tell him that. "Don't know how you did it, you're clueless.... Walk your sister home this time, kay?" Liam said, glancing over at the rock the tiny girl had been hiding behind for two weeks now. Liam yawned, and started walking back to New Rome, gods he was happy to have one less responsibility. Then looked down at his torn shirt... Damn it... that was his favorite one...

Sophia's eyes widened, as she crawled out from behind the rock and into view, where her brother could see her. She smiled, awkwardly... oh was she in trouble...
